A:  Well, you can always cut it off with a hack saw, but it will be hard to stretch it. Mine is about 59 1/4 inches on the finished wall.

A:  Hubby not home, but believe for our tub/shower area he had to cut a wee bit off the rod.

A:  This is how I used this Glacier Bay 60" shower rod: This Glacier Bay 60" shower rod is a bit longer than the old shower rod I wanted to replace. So, I measured the Glacier Bay rod against my old rod, and found that the Glacier rod was about 1-1/2 or so inches longer than my old rod. Therefore, I had someone cut off the Glacier Bay rod to match the length of my old rod and it worked perfectly. The Glacier Bay rod is not difficult to cut if the right cutting tool is used. Good luck!

        Answer This Question

A:  Yes, as long as the shower is 60 inches long or less you can cut it to fit any length with a hacksaw.

A:  Yes, it can be cut. I replaced my old shower rod with the new Glacier Bay 60 inch aluminum builders shower rod in chrome, Grey, but a little had to be cut off in order to fit. I hope this helps.

Q:I need the rod to fit a 61” span. Do you think the brackets will allow the rod to be 1/2” short on each end? Or will the end caps help?

              Answer This Question

A:  Sorry but unless you add some to the wall there is not enough space for it to fit in with any thing left for the rod to sit in. Only solution is to add decorative piece to each end to get the 60 inch needed. Than cut rod If needed

Q:can it be cut down to 32"?

                Answer This Question

A:  Yes, it can be cut down to any length you want. This is thin walled so use a hacksaw with a fine tooth blade for a better and easier cut. After cutting you might need/want to use a file file to smooth the cut end to prevent scratching or cutting yourself now or in the future.

A:  I cut about 2-1/2 inches off my Glacier Bay 60 in. aluminum builders shower rod in chrome, grey. There was no problem with cutting it off. It was installed and works fine. I would think there would be no problem in cutting it down to 32".

                Q:Does it rust?

                Answer This Question

A:  If it is aluminum, it should not rust. It might bend, break, or chip off the chrome, but aluminum won't rust. I am quite satisfied with mine. Sometimes aluminum gets this whitish aluminum oxide deposits on them after awhile. You can give it a coat of car polish once in awhile to ward off this residue.
