A:  Hi Dorrie, thanks for sharing your feedback. The HTH Pool Care Shock is packaged in 13.3oz bags in order to be an easy shock treatment solution for pools that are between 10,000-12,500 gallons. If your pool is a bit larger, we still sell the HTH Pool Care Shock Advanced and the HTH Pool Care Shock Ultra in the 16 oz bags. A:  Jenn, One pound of the HTH Pool Shock will treat 10,000-12,000 gallons of water. Be sure to always check your water chemistry and keep your free available chlorine between 1-4 ppm. Always make sure your water chemistry is in balance to ensure you get the most efficient and effective use of your shock. A:  Bob, Each bag should treat 10,000 gallons. Because this bag is not resealable, you will need to use the whole bag. If your pool is less than 10,000, we recommend you return that product and purchase the HTH for smaller pools that is in a closable container. The 5# bottle with a lid would allow to measure the needed amount for safe handling.
