A:  THIS ELECTRIC HEATER OR ANYOTHER HEATER HAS A "TERMASTATE CONTROLLER.

A:  I found that the outside of this heater gets very hot, so if you use it anywhere, make very sure you have it far away from any flammable items.

A:  YES, SHOULD BE FINE IF YOU KEEP IT DRY.

A:  Yes, I think that would work well. It's compact enough to move it around. The ambiance of it is lovely.

A:  The instructions says not to and honestly, I have not tried.

A:  I just answered this question a few minutes ago, but then I looked in the Owner's manual. Oops. It says not to use a surge protector. I have mine on flame only, so I'm ok using one. But if I turn on the heater function I'll have to plug it into the wall.

A:  It probably can. The instructions say to use no extension cords, but a surge protector is probably not what they're thinking of. LOL, I just realized I have mine plugged into a surge protector.

A:  The only click noises I have is when b I turn the two buttons on and my fireplace does not have an odor....may wish to call the company about those concerns.

A:  Mine did smell a bit of burning for just a short time... probably not even an hour after running it the first time. I haven't had any smell after that initial burning off period...I figured it was like a new oven, or the furnace smell when turning it on after a long summer.

A:  THIS UNIT HAS A NICE "FLAME" DISPLAY - YOU CAN'T BURN IN IT.

A:  You can use only the flame effect lighting without the heat. However, you can't use the heat without the light on.

A:  Jim, I am confused?? This allows you to not use the heat mode but just the look of a fireplace, is that what you are asking?? It does this or you can turn on the heat which works very well!

A:  I don’t think so. But it’s electric so don’t think that would be a big problem?
