Q:Hello, Would this switch work with a Minka-Aire F518L-ORB Concept collection 44" ceiling hugger fan? This fan has a built in led down light. The fan came with its own remote with a built in bracket for the receiver already. I'd would like to swap the receiver out and use this remote instead. The manual states : TO REDUCE THE RISK OF FIRE OR ELECTRONIC SHOCK, THIS FAN ONLY CAN USE CFR-3T SOLID-STATE SPEED CONTROL WITH TR111A-1 WALL CONTROL ONLY. There was also a warning sticker inside the housing stating that only a Chungear Industrial remote is to be used. Would it be safe to use this remote?

Answer This Question

A:  I found out the hard way these switches will not work with existing remote receivers. If you want to use the wall remote, you have to remove the existing receiver which makes your remote inoperable.

A:  Thank you for your question. No, this wireless wall control is not compatible with the fan referenced. The Minka fan has a remote function on the remote. The wireless wall control does not have a reverse feature. For optimal performance, please follow guidelines included in the Minka manual.

A:  If the fan uses a standard 3 wire plus ground, and there is room in the canopy for the receiver (modern fans typically have such a space), then it will work great. I have tried several different remote setups, and this one is my favorite.

A:  Thank you for your question. The Minka fan includes a remote with reverse function. The wireless wall control does not include a reverse feature so you would not be able to change the direction of your fan.

Q:Does this wall switch work with the Home Decorators Collection 52 inch Parkridge? If so, can I use both the remote that came with the fan and the wall switch? Thanks

        Answer This Question

A:  Thank you for your question. This wall switch is compatible and would replace the original remote and receiver. It is not compatible with the remote and receiver originally included with the Parkridge fan. You would not be able to use both.

A:  If the fan uses a standard 3 wire plus ground, and there is room in the canopy for the receiver (modern fans typically have such a space), then it will work great. The remote that comes with the fan will likely not work with the Hampton Bay receiver, due to the range of frequencies used by these devices.

Q:Will this work with the Shanahan 52 in. LED Indoor/Outdoor Bronze Ceiling Fan with Light Kit?

          Answer This Question

A:  Thank you for your question. Yes, this is compatible with the Shanahan fan. Please note that the fan will need to be set to high speed using the pull chain (1 pull) and the light set to on using the pull chain (1 pull) before the wall control will take over control. Once the chains are set, the wall control will function just like a remote control for the fan. The wall control includes a receiver that will need to be installed in the fan's canopy. If using the dimmer feature, the original bulb will need to be replaced with a dimmable bulb.

A:  This new model fits standard 2+ gang faceplates perfectly. The older ones are larger and do not. They work great.

            Answer This Question

A:  Thank you for your question. We do not recommend this wireless wall control for use with hugger fans. This wall control is basically a wall mounted remote control that requires a receiver to be installed in the fan. In general, hugger fans do not have a dedicated space in the motor housing to hold the receiver.

A:  Yes I have used it with a No down rod hugger fan.

A:  Thanks. Wanted to make sure it wasn't a remote or frequency issue. Physically i know it will fit in my mounting bracket.

                Answer This Question

A:  Thank you for your question. No, this wireless wall control is not compatible with the Trudeau ceiling fan. The Trudeau ceiling fan has a DC motor and con only be controlled with the included remote control. Due to the DC motor and built-in receiver, the fan is not compatible with any alternate control methods.

A:  I think it will but I’m not sure of the fan manufacturers that I used them with, there were 2 different fans that I installed.

A:  It should. It fits in the top section up against the ceiling. I have one of these in three different types of fans in my home.

Q:I'm planning to replace an old ceiling fan with a Federigo 48" LED ceiling fan by Home Decorators Collection. Is this wireless wall switch compatible? https://www.homedepot.com/p/Home-Decorators-Collection-Federigo-48-in-LED-White-Ceiling-Fan-SW1618WH/301231213 If so, here's the tricky part of the question... I have an existing double wall switch plate (one slot was used for the old fan function, and one slot was used for the old (single) downlight). Since the Federigo has an uplight and a down light (both independently dimable with the included remote control), is it possible to use this wireless wall switch to control just the fan and the uplight in one of the existing switch plate slots, while at the same time hardwiring just the downlight into a dimmer in the other slot? Thanks

                        Answer This Question

A:  It is possible, yes. The challenge will be stuffing both receivers into the space under the junction box cover at the ceiling. I've attached a picture of the Federingo remote and receiver. The part in the middle with the wires is the receiver. The Hampton Bay control has it's own receiver that you need to use as well.

A:  NO This is a battery operated control unit. It only communicates with the controller switch that you located in the base of the fan. IT DOES NOT WIRE TO ANY HOUSE WIRING AT THE BOX.

A:  Thank you for your question. Yes, the wireless wall control would replace the included remote control. You would just wire the receiver for the wall control to the fan to control speed and uplight and then wire the downright to the other switch wire. You will not be able to use the included remote at all when installing this way.

A:  Yes, that fan has the black/blue/white/green wiring that ceiling fans typically employ. This universal remote is perfect for it.

A:  This device has nothing to do with model of Fan. It simply turns on the 120VAC to the fan and separately to the light. The battery in the wall unit only last about 2 years and has to be replaced often.

A:  Thank you for your question. No, the 56" Altura has a built-in receiver and is only compatible with the original included remote.

A:  Yes. It is a universal control, which means that it will work with any ceiling fan that uses standard wiring (separate circuits for light and fan). It comes with a receiver that is to be installed inside the junction box cover.
