A: No, unless you have an unusually wide and deep grout joint, standard grout joints (1/4"-3/8" wide) typically do not require additional filling.
A: I don't know for sure, just how heavy is it? Sofa heavy? then you should be okay. The cork is very hard, not soft like bulletin board or wine cork, but something extremely heavy on wheells might leave indents. I'd use something under the wheels, like furniture coasters, or a small piece of plywood to spread out the weight. It is nice for keeping clean just by sweeping, and keeping it quieter by absorbing sound, and a lot warmer and easier on the feet than concrete.
A: This flooring is too soft for heavy equipment on wheels. Over time, the wheels would break down the cork surface. Cork has a naturally a soft composition and is a bit porous, neither of which would lend it to hold up over a period of time to that type of equipment.
A: Metal and hard plastic casters should be avoided or rugs/mats should be used to protect the floor. Wide barrel-style rubber casters would be best for reducing the likelihood of damage.
A: I would not advise it. This product is very nice but it is very soft. I wanted to install this product in my house but with my dogs nails they would just tear it up. Look around they sell some nice products that are much more durable.
A: May depend on your definition of "heavy". We've had 3 tool chests (one has portable table saw, the other a portable miter saw) stored on top. So probably 150-200 pounds each on casters. They've been sitting on this flooring more or less steadily in the same spot for 2 years. I just moved them and tried to feel if there was any indentation in the floor. I didn't sense any (although I apparently need to vacuum under them a bit better). We have chairs that roll all the time and haven't really noticed any wear. They are pretty rugged. (Hard to see sawdust on them though...)
A: The cork top layer and cork backing layer are bonded with a formaldehyde free binder. The assembled product, which includes a 6mm HDF core, meets all California Air Resources Board (CARB) Phase II restrictions for formaldehyde emissions and is FloorScore certified for indoor air quality.
A: This is suitable for all areas of the home except full bathrooms.
A: Good and bad. It would be good in that it has some cushion to it, so it would be good on your joints if you are running in place, jumping, doing lunges, etc. Unfortunately, it gets scratched and scarred fairly easily, so would not hold up to exercise machines being dragged across it.
A: The flooring does have a soft, warm feel when walking on it, but the top venier is very thin and peals off easily. I do not think it will hold up to heavy usage. We have a heavy rug on top of the flooring in areas of heavy usage.
A: I have this cork flooring installed throughout the first floor of my home. While I think it is beautiful it was a mistake for me. Arizona has a dry climate and the flooring requires humidity. Consequently I had to acquire a humidifier which runs continually during summer because the air conditioner dries the air. I had an unfortunate incident with a water problem which ruined a portion of the flooring in my guest room. You cannot replace a portion of the floor that is damaged due to acclimation of time and weather. If you live in a state that has humidity then presumably the flooring would be suitable.
A: This would be great in an exercise room - quiet and warm and resilient! Comes with a thin built in underlayment, but you may want to add something else depending on the surface you are going over.
A: It depends. If your exercise room is for low impact activities such as yoga, or even some aerobics it would work well. I would not advise it for any weights or machines. The cork would be very cushy and and a little sound deadening, but the machines or weights may scratch the flooring.
A: I honestly don’t see any gray, it’s definitely brown and on the darker side but it’s a nice soft warm brown. We really like it.
A: It’s more like milk chocolate brown with darker flecks of dark chocolate brown mixed throughout
A: It’s grayish brown. I love this flooring!
A: It is a brown floor, with some slight gray undertones. If your local store does not have a sample, please contact Customer Service at 888-875-5087 for sample assistance.
A: I believe I remember there being 8 planks per case. I ordered it a couple years ago and the floor is holding up just fine.
A: There are 8 planks in a case.
A: 11.625"x36" = 418.50 area per pc. / 144 (sq ft) = 2.90 sq ft per pc. 22.99 sq ft per case / 2.90 sq ft per pc. = 8 pcs.
A: I don’t remember how many in each carton (10 or 12), I do know even with the 10% extra, I still had plenty to spare. My room was fairly small around 225 square feet with just one major cut for the chimney. I would recommend a table saw and wax for the joints, it made all the difference.
A: 8! And I might add the flooring is FANTASTIC!!! Easy to install, soft on the feet and sound reducing!
A: I don't think so. I just took my chances and ordered what I needed. The photo is pretty accurate.
A: Yes. However this product is not suited for Arizona's dry climate. I didn't find this out until after installation therefore I had to purchase a humidifier. Before purchase I asked one of the salesladies if there were any special requirements and she assured me there were none. It is a beautiful floor.
A: yes, I ordered a sample at the store for $1...the product is great

A: No there was not a sample size.
A: This product is intended for floating floor applications only. It is not recommended for glue-down installations or for use in building stairs.
A: Cork flooring like this is meant to be a floating floor, but could be glued in place. The problem of using it as a stair tread is two fold. First, it could be a bit of a problem removing it if it ever needed replacing and second, you would have to custom make a piece of wood to cap the leading edge of each tread. Something to think about.
A: I would say yes. You would have to apply a nosing obviously. Glue down not intended installation but having worked with this product I think you have a very good idea that will work.
A: It could be, but I wouldn't unless you have a different vision of a stair tread than I. The backside is of a material you could glue it to anything, but it is cork so unless you had a way to protect the nose of the tread it will get torn apart. If you had an elevated bullnose on the end of the tread and set the cork planking into a recession behind it I can see where it would work, but not with the cork coming to the end of the tread. If you were to do that then maybe you would consider securing it with a removable trim instead of glue so if a section got overly worn you could replace it by removing the trim.
A: I don’t see why not. You would have to use construction adhesive- lots of it, and trim out the front of the tread with regular wood. I love this flooring.
A: Yes but you will need some type of hard material at the leading edge so that it doesn’t break. I used an oak stair nosing and butted into that. Good luck!!
A: No glue, these are snap together planks. I used an underlayment, although I believe that's not absolutely neccesary as the planks also have a thin cork layer on their underside.
A: No glue, it’s a free floating floor? I couldn’t imagine gluing mine, it fits together so tight, I don’t see the advantage of glue.
A: No glue required it's a floating plank floor
A: This product features a glueless click locking system. It is intended to be a floating floor. No glue is necessary.
A: It's click-lock, no glue used. The pieces snap together and rest on top of your underlayment. The mass of the assembled floor holds everything securely in place.
A: No glue! The instructions are very clear: no glue. You need to let the floor move, hence the need for gaps around the edges
A: No glue is needed. This is a click-in-place flooring system. Planks interlock with tongue-and-groove edges, tapped into place with a mallet and “tapping tool.”

A: This planking is 13/32 inches thick.
