A: Hi Rick, this is Sarah with Kohler Customer Service. I am glad to address your question. At this time, we do not offer the Memoirs two-piece toilet in a 14" rough-in. We recommend looking at the K-3948 Wellworth 14" rough-in toilet. Thank you for choosing Kohler.

A: Sook, my name is Jessica with Kohler Customer Service. I am happy to assist with your inquiry. K-3816-0 should not clog during normal use; if there is a blockage in your soil pipe or in your venting it can cause the bowl to clog. Thank you for choosing Kohler.

A: Barbara, my name is Jessica with Kohler Customer Service. I am happy to assist with your inquiry. There is not a difference between toilets that are purchased at Home Depot versus a showroom other than the seat that may be packaged with a Complete Solution toilet. The difference between K-3986-0 and K-3986-U-0 is that the U version has an insulated tank. Thank you for choosing Kohler.

Q:Are there different ways to flush for liquid and solid waste? I understand that it is a single flush toilet, but one reviewer said that you need to hold the flusher down longer for solid waste.

Answer This Question
A: Joanne, my name is Jessica with Kohler Customer Service. I am happy to assist with your inquiry. K-3816-0 is a single flush toilet; there is not a different flush to use for liquid or solid waste. Holding the trip lever down for a longer time only allows more water into the bowl than the 1.28 gpf the toilet is intended to use. Thank you for choosing Kohler.

A: The tank connects to the bowl with 3 bolts.
Better stability.
by|Dec 30, 2021
A: I believe you are referring to the method by wich the tank attaches to the toilet bowl base. There is a unitary black rubber flange gasket, with three blot holes in it, and it sits between the tank and base. The special bolts go through this gasket from the tank side, and then through the bowl, where a nut is tightened from the underside of the bowl. This forms a water tight seal wen properly torqued. This is also how you level the tank in relation to the base.

A: Hi Nicole, my name is Meli with Kohler Co. I am happy to assist with your inquiry. The Memoirs toilet K-3986 would require a toilet seat, supply line, wax ring, and T-bolts which are sold separately to complete the installation. Thank you for choosing Kohler.

A: You will need a seat, wax ring, etc. My seat from my regular height Memoirs Classic fits well. So I kept it.
