A: Yes, this catch works with cabinets.

A: You attach it to the side of the cabinet's vertical or horizontal wall, at the front edge. Since it goes inside the cabinet it should work. You just need to set the depth into the cabinet to match the door when closed.

A: I used it on the back of a piece of art to create storage for sunglasses, so the magnet was on the back of the art and the metal was on the wall. For a cabinet, you would install the metal plate on the cabinet door and the magnet latch inside the cabinet. It should work well for that purpose.

Q:I am tired of replacing the cheap (economy) magnetic catches inside my window shutters. The sun bakes them and they crack after a short period of time.
I can not find aluminum white ones (do they exist?) and the Home Depot person told me to check online. I found your Heavy Duty ones, but don't know if they will fit? Your economy description on the HD site shows 1 1/2 on center for the holes. I could not find anywhere on the site where you give this product's hole measurements. Are they the same as the economy ones?

Q:I'm looking for hardware which would allow me to use a drawer that doesn't have an external pull. Would this work? I want something that would let me press in and have the drawer pop out, and then let me push it closed.
