A:  Yes you can use an extension cord but you will need a approved/listed product like the twist and seal cord seal to prevent water from entering between the male and female plugs. 

A:  It is water resistant, it can withstand rain, snow, sleet, etc, not submerged.

A:  While the unit has been built to withstand the elements, for a long-life performance, mount the unit at least 3 inches off the ground to avoid it being immersed in water.

A:  The IP65 rating indicates that it gives protection against low pressure water jets from any direction, as well as condensation and water spray. It's suitable for most outdoor enclosures that won't encounter extreme weather such as flooding. So don't submerge it!

A:  In rain locations, yes. Submersed underwater, no. The switches themselves are tight. It's the places you plug them in that you need to think about when it comes to water.

A:  I don't think so. I don't remember seeing anything that said water proof.

A:  Yes. It is rated to 15A (it uses a relay internally that you can hear click on & off.) As long as your pump doesn't have a surge starting current greater than 15A you will be fine.

A:  It is rated for 15 Amp on 115 volts so the answer is "yes"...for on/off control manually or through WiFi with the Lutron Smart Bridge.

A:  This switch is rated for 15 amps and up to 1/2 HP motor so it should work for your use.

A:  An IP-65 rating means that the device has Ingress Protection ratings of 6 for solids and contact (6 is the highest rating) and rating of 5 for liquids. The 6 rating means total protection from dust ingress and accidental contact (including hands and fingers). The 5 rating means that it is protected from from low pressure water jets from any direction.

A:  IP-65 is a weather-resistance rating. The number 6 indicates that it is impervious to dust and dirt—the scale only goes up to 6. The number 5 indicates that it will continue to work even after getting hit with a blast of water from a hose for 10 minutes from any angle.

A:  It is an enclosure standard as follows. IP65 Enclosure - IP rated as "dust tight" and protected against water projected from a nozzle.

A:  IP stands for International Protection Code. The rating 65 is for protection against dust and water.

A:  No, this is an on/off plug. It cannot dim loads.

A:  No. There is no dimming capability as mentioned by several of us that reviewed the product.

A:  Does not allowing dimming.

A:  It would only work with a low voltage load if there is a transformer or "driver" between this device and the load such as LED lights. LED bulbs that have traditional bases like 115 Volt devices have drivers built into them. But there is no voltage step down or other conditioning in this device. It is for on/off control of 115 volts AC.

A:  The PD-15OUT is able to switch all lighting loads on and off up to 15 amps.

A:  Yes, connect your low voltage transformer to it. it can control transformers up to 1200 VA (8 A)

A:  Only indirectly. It switches 120v AC, which in turn could be used to power a low-voltage lighting transformer. That is what we use it for.

A:  Use this to control your low voltage transformer. Just plug your transformer into it and you're ready to go
