Answer This Question
A: Hello Michael, thank you for your question. Dimmers will always experience a slight voltage loss on the high-end of their range due to the nature of fluctuating the normal 120V output with their dimming signals, and therefore the highest light level achievable for a dimmed circuit is usually slightly less than 100% of the fixture's full brightness. However, compatible LEDs, especially those tested and approved by Lutron, are held to strict standards of dimming quality and should be able to get as close to a full 100% as possible on their high-ends. See our LED Compatibility Tool at the link below for a list of LEDs we have tested that are compatible with your dimmer:

A: Hello Erick,
The Maestro dimmer, MACL-153MR-WH is intended to control lights from one location.
Dimming lights from two or more locations would require the companion dimmer, MA-RR-WH. If more than two locations is desired, additional companion dimmers are needed.
Follow the accompanying instructions.

A: You can't put two MACL-153M on the same light, but you can use one of these and a companion dimmer MA-R to create the same effect.

Q:what is purpose of ground wire on bottom of switch when there is a receptacle on the top left of maestro LED+ device MACL-153M. Thanks

Answer This Question
A: The top left blue screw is not a ground. Don’t tie it to that. The only ground is the green one mounted on the switch. The blue screw is for multiple location switching.

A: I?m not sure what your real question is. The national electrical code requires a ground wire to all electrical devices, particularly if they have a metal case.

A: Hello Herb, thank you for your question. The ground wire helps to ground the outer casing of the unit to the box as a safety measure, but is not required for the unit to function. We always recommend connecting a ground wire to the green wire on the unit if one is available in your wallbox. See the below installation guide for more information:

Q:Does it work with universal remote and lutron maestro remote?
by|Aug 28, 2022

Answer This Question
A: Hello, thank you for your question. The Maestro LED+ dimmer switch is not capable of interfacing with a universal remote, and it does not have RF capability to communicate with a Lutron Pico remote. We can, however, recommend a Lutron Caseta dimmer and Pico remote that will have similar specifications to the Maestro model and is remote-controllable via Lutron Clear Connect RF devices:

A: Hello! Currently, there's no industry standard or regulation for manufacturing LEDs, which is why performance varies with dimming controls. That's why we extensively test a variety of LEDs from many different manufacturers and offer a mobile-friendly web tool to help you select bulbs that provide the best dimming performance with your Lutron dimmers. To access the tool, please visit lutron.com/ledfinder.

A: Yes we have Edison LED connected with our Lutron dimmers. They work great together! Otherwise we use Phillips Hue lights which work with the Lutron Claro On/Off Switch. Feit has a dimmer compatibility chart posted which includes several Lutron dimmer models:

A: The dimmer switch probably isn't the problem.
You need to be sure you are using dim-able bulbs. Many of the LED bulbs that claim to be dim-able don't dim evenly either.
You will have to experiment to find a good dim-able LED type. Incandescent bulbs are still the best for even dimming. Try and find dim-able incandescent bulbs, and see is it solves your problem.

A: I installed a fair number of the "pre LED" version of these switches. Fortunately for me we redecorate often and update everything we can. The old style switch will definitely give you a flickering LED lamp. You didn't mention if this was a single or three-way situation, if you want to dim from 2 locations three-way) you will need to use a companion dimmer Model MA-RR.

A: The Diva is rated for up to 650W and the MA-Pro is available up to 1,000W which could better handle the load.

A: This is not RF, it is Maestro, which is over A/C line. Could do with smart switch that uses RF. Thre are bth A/C and Battery vesrions available.

A: Since the Maestro does not have RF capabilities, and would need a wired companion at the other wallbox, Lutron would recommend the Caseta Wireless dimmers instead. The PD-6WCL is a single-pole control, but you can use it in 3- or 4-way applications together with Lutron Pico remotes (PJ2-3BRL-GWH-L01) and Pico wallbox adapters (PICO-WBX-ADAPT). A: They fit in an ordinary 2 gang box. You have to snap off the tabs for them to fit side by side.
by|May 7, 2022
A: I had to carefully snip them myself to fit. Once I did, they were fine. Don't snip off the alignment holes that the screws go through.
by|May 4, 2022
A: Hello John, thank you for your question. The metal fins on the unit are designed to be removed in order to gang multiple devices side-by-side. This can affect total wattage capacity of the device, but only if using incandescent or halogen lighting. See the below specification sheet for more installation and dimension information:
