A:  Tape measures are intentionally designed with play in the end clip to account for inside versus outside measurements. The play should be exactly the thickness of the clip.

A:  All tape measures have a little play in them but some are worse than others. When you make your mark or line try cutting right on the line the blade of saw will make up the difference. Also always remember to keep it in mind that you have the extra play on the tape.

A:  It happened to me as well until I realized what was happening. Wasted some material but other than pretty solid tape measure

A:  I thought so too. However the play is intentional. Think about it this way. When you pull on the tab, you measure from the end of the board. If you push on the tab, than you measure from the side of the wall. It's to make sure it's accurate whether you measure outside length or inside length.

A:  Agreed. The play is too much. No way the end clip is that thick. Just account for it.

A:  No I bought like a week ago and it is not what I expected the auto lock don’t lock no more it just goes back it and I only used for putting moldings not good expected better for the brand.

A:  Yes, on every use. Bumping does not affect it.

A:  The auto lock does not work flawlessly and actually broke after the second time using it.Milwaukee makes great power tools but it’s absolutely horrible at tape measure. I would advise my daughter or my son or my wife to never buy this brand for tape measure. This is not the first experience I’ve had with a bad tape measure from Milwaukee. Stay far far away from Milwaukee tape measure! You have been warned.

A:  I've had mine for about 10 months now and have not have any issues with it, it just took me a few days to get used to the auto lock, old habits are hard to break! But I LOVE the auto lock!

A:  Yes, I have had no problems with Auto Lock. I know that Milwaukee Tools are well known in several industries. I would definitely take it over any other brand

A:  I haven't had a single issue with the autolock of this Milwawkee tape measure. Once the tape is out, it stays out and doesn't creep back in.
