A:  I used this in my hand crank drill to replace the black and decker bullet drill bit I lent out that was broken when I lent it out. This bit works as well as my Black and Decker drill bit I just may buy a set of these bits also. A little pricey to buy just one, but I only needed one and a set would have been more expense. Great bit

A:  Sorry no, this drill bit is specifically designed for drilling cast iron and stainless steel and is not suitable for porcelain tiles. Please search "drill bits for tile" on the Home Depot website for carbide drill bits that are suitable for drilling tiles.

A:  Per Milwaukee, the bit length is 2.75" and the flute length is 1.625", so 4.375" or 4 3/8". Standard size for that size of a bit.

A:  Pretty sure it's just an electroplate cobalt coating over HSS. No idea what alloy. What I can tell you for sure is that if you center punch your starting point, are generous with the cutting oil, drill at slow speed and pause if the oil starts to smoke, they will drill through commercial grade stainless steel counter tops many times. If you keep these cool and baptize them with lots of cutting oil, they will far outlast plain HSS, "black oxide" or "titanium nitride" bits. If you let them overheat and neglect the cutting oil, they'll die before you are a 1/4" through mild steel.
