A:  The pad will eventually lay flat. It shouldn?t take too long. If you don?t want to wait, I?d suggest flipping the pad over in daily intervals.

A:  Mohawk Home's Dual Surface Rug Pad is great for use on any hard surface flooring and carpeting. It will not stain or discolor your flooring. It's also great for adding cushion underfoot, preventing slippage and wrinkling, and protecting your floors against abrasion and wear. Rug pads should be smaller than your area rug size by at least 1-2 inches on each side. This allows the rug to lay flat on the ground preventing a tripping hazard. Most area rug pads can be trimmed down to size using scissors.

A:  It?s best to use a razor knife to cut the pad. That?s what I used and it works great.

A:  It is very smelly! It's been a week of airing it out and the smell is overpowering. I dont particularly have a sensitive nose but the smell from this rug pad is obnoxious. I am hoping it will go away soon.

A:  We have had no problem with any order of the pad.  It has worked great in our great room. 

A:  The Mohawk rug pad I received did not have odor. I have ordered several others in the past and none had odor. Some people may have a very sensitive sense of smell but for the average person it should an issue.

A:  I purchased about 2 years ago to place over new hardwood floors. The bottom that goes on floor is rubber and the top that the rug goes on is felt. The rubber keeps it in place and it does not move at all when walking on it or moving furniture. I lifted it to see floor underneath before answering question, and the floor is exactly the same as the uncovered. There are no marks from the rubber on the wood. I also purchased some of the Mohawk pads that are a felt on top and a rougher felt on the bottom to place underneath heavy furniture and some furniture that I move around to clean behind. The double felt sided pads do not stay in place unless you place a heavy piece of furniture on them, so I don't recommend for hallways or small area rugs. I did use a double felt sided pad in family room under a heavy granite coffee table and it stays in place. The rubber bottom stays in place even with nothing on it. If it doesn't damage hardwood or tile, I don't think it will damage vinyl or laminate. I am very happy with both types of Mohawk rug pads I have purchased and recommend both types depending on how you plan to use them, as I stated above. A:  Yes, this rug pad would work fine on heated flooring.

A:  I would think that this pad would help a little with cold floors. It’s a dense layer, so it should provide some insulation, especially with a rug over it.
