Q:When used in place of fabric softeners, does Odoban affect the absorbency/breathability of fabrics? Are there certain items/types of fabric incompatible w/ Odoban? I want to avoid the detriments that fabric softener compounds can have on textiles. TYVM!

Answer This Question
A: The active ingredient in OdoBan tends to be absorbed in fabrics. Over time, you may notice the fabrics losing absorbency. If this happens, it can be reversed and/or avoided by skipping the use of OdoBan every few wash cycles.
If fabric softener should not be used on an item, then that would apply to using OdoBan on that item as well. OdoBan should not be used in the rinse cycle for fabrics that are designed to be water-repellent or flame-resistant.
OdoBan will not harm washable, water-safe fabrics.

Q:Can this be used in a carpet cleaning machine?
by|Jan 28, 2024
1 Answer
Answer This Question
A: Yes, OdoBan can be used in carpet extraction cleaning machines for deodorizing. Mix 8 oz OdoBan per gallon of water. Do not mix OdoBan with other chemicals. Rinse vessels and lines before and after application so that residue from chemicals used before or after are not mixed with OdoBan. Pets can be allowed back into the area after the carpet or rug has dried completely. Do not use on carpets still under warranty. Warranty may be voided if you use products not approved by the carpet manufacturer.
