A:  Yes If you plant annual rye grass. Only likes cool weather. Also I have not had any luck with any other grass seeds. I plan to put in sod grass.

A:  Yes. Confusing since the annual part leads you to believe it will come back annually. You need perennial seed to come back each year. Brown lawn sounds like a watering issue. Try clover as a mix in.  Not. A lush lawn but it is hardy.

A:  This is annual seed. annual plants die in the winter season so you must replant them every year, while perennials come back every year so you only plant them once. These annual seeds grow quickly and provide a nice cover to allow slower growing seeds like bluegrass to take hold. You can mix the seeds or buy a mix. Pick the seed mix for sunny or shaded area.

                      Answer This Question

A:  No. Cool season grasses need to be planted in the spring or fall, when temperatures are between 60 to 75 degrees during the day and no lower than 50 degrees at night. There are not any grass varieties that can grow in the cold temperatures of winter.
