A:  Hello! For the Outlast+, the backer rod and silicone caulk seal the perimeter/expansion gaps from moisture. In order to maintain the waterproofing portion of the warranty, this would need to be done. A:  Hello! Coefficient of Friction (COF) testing is not a standard test, so we do not have a lot of tests for products. COF testing is technically catered to tile (ceramic, porcelain) There is not industry standard slip resistance testing for laminate. Dogs with long nails will find it harder for traction. A:  Hello! The visual for the Defense+ Hoboken Oak and the Outlast+ Cocoa Walters Oak is the same. Pergo Defense+ laminate will be moving to special order then discontinuing after a few months. Cocoa Walters Oak is a new introduction to the Outlast+ line and it will continue being sold through that line. The difference in the two is in the product line details. Defense+ laminate is a 14mm with antimicrobial added into the wear layer, and it has an AC5 wear rating. Outlast+ is a 12mm with an AC4 wear layer. The visuals are the same but the color on the Cocoa Walters will be slightly different than the Hoboken Oak due to the difference in wear layers, AC5 vs AC4. Thank you for your Pergo inquiry- Pam
