A:  Yes you can, just tilt it foward

      by|Apr 13, 2020

A:  The depth regulator is not intended to be used for this purpose. It is not recommended that the unit be loaded into a truck while it is running. This can create a safety hazard.

I don’t have a receipt but want to return for exchange for different unit.

A:  Don’t worry about the 140 part of the number. Just go to any auto parts store and buy 90 weight gear oil.

          by|Apr 11, 2020

A:  Hello JBertell, How are you? I too had no success in finding 90w140. However, let me explain to you (and others) what the 90W means, and you can see what I'm about to share with you. "W" in oil terms means WINTER. That means that the lower the number, the more viscus, or ability to flow will be during cold times. 5W will flow much easier than 10, 20, 30, etc. So the 90W means that it is really thick, which in winter time, means the oil will not flow very easily until warmed up because it is heavy. That being said, how many people are tilling in the dead of winter when it is really that cold? I best I could find is 85w140, which is not far off from the 90w140. And since the second number is the viscosity when hot, and they are both the same, there is no issue. You could always contact Powermate Customer Service and talk with them. I do not see any issue with 85W vs 90W. It's not that big a deal. I hope this helps. Thank you for asking your question. Thank you Home Depot for giving me the ability to answer his question. A:  Amsoil 75w140. From local distributor or just google for sources. Don't worry about the 75w low end as that is just for really cold weather. Having the 140W is important. 30 weight bar oil is NOT gear oil.

A:  The Powermate PRTT212 Rear Tine Tiller can use either a 85w-140 or 90w-140 gear oil in it’s transmission These gear oils can be found at different retailers and all auto parts stores.

A:  That's odd because this tiller doesn't utilize or have any belts at all that I'm aware of.

A:  I'd try calling home depot to see what they will do or take the item to the store (which is difficult to move even when it is on). Sadly they will probably tell you that you are out of warranty and won't be willing to take care of the issue they created by selling a crappy product. Check and see if yours has gear oil in it also. I don't think mine was filled properly when they sold me mine and it is not even a year old and reverse isn't working for me.
