Q:how do you add this stuff ? just pour it on the salt cubes?

Answer This Question

A:  You are supposed to add it to the resin. I have a portable water softener with a filter on the input. I remove the filter, add the resin care to the empty filter housing, and trickle the water through for about 30 minutes. Then a short high volume flush, reinstall the filter, and resume water softening.

A:  Pour 4 oz. (½ cup) per cubic feet, then manually regenerate the water softener to clean resin. Res Care down the brine well of the water softener, your system does the rest. It restores the softener beads and control valve parts back to peak efficiency and maintain the life of the unit.

Answer This Question

A:  Yed, Protect your water softener by using Res Care on a regular basis. Simply pour 4 oz. of product down the brine well of the softener and let your system do the rest.

A:  Res Care is a third party resin cleaner. You need 1/2 cup per 30,000 grains of resin, so you'll need slightly more than 4 oz. per treatment. Res Care is potable, so I don't believe that it can hurt your Whirlpool system, so give it a try!

A:  ResCare is specifically formulated for that purpose. I'm very happy with results. i use 1/2 cup per regeneration for cleaning. I'm not sure Whirlpool is specfically asking you to use only there product, but before you lose any warranty, I'd ask whirlpool or store where you purchased product for any disclaimers.

A:  Specifically that's a question I can neither confirm nor deny. I don't see any exceptions for not using it. Companies always promote the use of their product. When you say "require" then if there is a new warranty, or the like, concern then you'll have to make the call. On the label it says : Automatic (cleaner) Feeder Systems Fill the feeder to the "FILL" mark indicated on the label but do not overfill. Add more Res Care when the solution level drops to or below the "REFILL" line on the label.
