Questions and Answers for QuietCool 1950 CFM Smart App Controlled 3-Speed Roof Mount Attic Fan

A:  It is highly recommended that you use a speed control.

A:  This unit has a thermostat and humidistat on it and the setting for it to turn on and off automatically can be adjusted from your phone. We do have a mechanical thermostat that will work on this fan however it wont come with this unit. Its $20, and you will be limited to one speed.

A:  While you should be able to, I recommend you give us a call > 951-325-6340

A:  The maximum pitch that this fan can accommodate is (8/12). In case your roof has a steeper pitch than this and you still wish to install the fan, your roofer can construct a curb to level it out.

A:  This fan would not be appropriate for this use case scenario. This is an attic fan that is put on your roof.

A:  No, this product is not design to be mounted vertically and would void warranty if installed this way.

A:  Ridge venting is still venting and the fan will pull from that if the soffits don't suffice. If you buy and install this fan be sure to place it 5ft or so down away from the ridge of your roof as to not pull air right next to it but to pull from all over.

A:  Ridge vents are designed to let hot air out and not bring in air for the attic fan. Need low air vents to support hot air removal by the attic fan. Hot air rises. 

A:  1.  You need enough ridges to accommodate air intake. 2. You defeat the purpose of the ridge vents are close to the attic fan. Higher velocity air will go through the ridge vents closet to the attic fan.  3. You want air intake lower to pull hot air out the attic fan.  I use soffit vents and O’hagin vents located on the bottom quarter of the roof. 

A:  The SMT attic fans can be control using just humidity. For example you can set it to come on when its over 30% and off if it gets above 50%. If you have more question about this please reach out to info@qc-mfg.com .

A:  There can be multiple fans per app, You just need to set them up with thermostat and humidistat presets to turn on and off at.

A:  Good morning, this is ok to do. You will lose some cfm depending on how thick those supporting beams are but this should not hinder installation or be problematic to the unit.
