Answer This Question
A: Yes, it will need to be winterized though. Pretty much drain as much water out as you can.

A: Yes, Just leave the spigot open at the bottom of the barrel so no water collects in it. Leaving it with water inside over the winter could crack the barrel because water expands when frozen.

A: No

A: No, the water must be routed into a hole into the barrel. You can't just open the top and have water flow in without drilling a large hole which wil allow debris to collect inside. It's designed to receive water from the side through a hose.

A: No problem there. The top is sealed. The barrel is fed from the diverter with a clear vinyl hose, so the fit is tight. I've had mine for a couple of years now, with no bug problems at all. Would definitely recommend these barrels.
by|May 4, 2023
A: Not an issue fully sealed system. I did place a small piece of window screen over the tube for the diverter, but this was done to make sure the any debris did not flow into the barrel as I was concerned that I would not be able to remove the debris from the barrel.
by|May 5, 2023
A: The only place they could nest is in the planter box, so No, unless you plug the drain hole and keep a pool of water up top.
by|May 4, 2023
A: Totally enclosed system. No way for mosquitoes to get in. That is what I was looking for in a rain barrel.
by|May 4, 2023
A: It is a closed system so mosquitoes can not get in.

Answer This Question
A: You cannot clean the inside of the barrel.
by|May 5, 2023
A: Add some bleach to water to prevent the slime. If it already has slime, empty the barrel then add bleach and water then roll the barrell around to move the mixture all about the barrel. Drain it and repeat until water comes out clear.
