A: Any size, we use it in closets, great tools for all floating floors.
A: Could work with any size room as long as your starting point is 2 walls. Additional spacing blocks alone are available.
A: Fits any size room, has everything you need to install it.
A: any size
A: I am using it for the entire 1600 square foot house
A: About a quarter of an inch if you don't use the underlayment. If you don't have any counter tops to factor in - you shouldn't even notice it. Underlayment is a good idea - if for no other reason than it helps minimize the noise below but more importantly, it gives it just enough "bounce" to keep the joints from separating. With underlayment it will feel like a third of an inch higher. We used a moisture barrier and underlayment, and we had counter tops that seemed a bit lower than before, but nothing you couldn't get accustomed to.
A: The flooring we used is French Oak, it is 5" wide (solid hardwood) and 5/8" thick with padding and floor you adding about 6/8" to flooring height.
A: Hardwood and laminate vary in thickness 6 to 12mm. Major consideration is for space under the doors to open and close. Underlayment also comes varying thickness. Take care measuring especially if "T" moulding is required under doorways.
A: This is only a tool kit used to install flooring.
A: 8mm-probably less than a half inch
A: Yes, as long as you aren't seeing any decomposition of the vinyl, it will be fine. Remove any seaming material that may cause a hump under the laminate, the key is to have a very flat floor when installing. Don't forget to check for dips and waves all across the proposed space with a level, you can fill them with mastic, mastic works on vinyl too.
A: Thank you Tom for your inquiry. Our Laminate and Wood Flooring Installation Kit is for flooring installations and not a flooring product. If you have any further questions please call our Customer Service (866) 435-8665. Thank you for your interest in our product.
A: Yes, but with a fairly smooth surface and an underlayment that prevents mold and moisture.
A: My answer is NO, to much moisture in a basement, not recommended in underground environments, also can not lay over any type of flooring, must be laid over closed foam padding. Comes in 100' rolls 36" wide.
A: this isnt flooring however houzz.com has great forums that will answer your "can i install ______ over _____" questions
A: Thank you for your inquiry. There is no formaldehyde in our Laminate and Wood Flooring Kit. If you have any further questions please call our Customer Service (866) 435-8665. Thank you for your interest in our product.
A: This is the installation kit.
A: NO
A: No formaldehyde. Perhaps it may be in glue if that's what you use.
A: This is only a tool kit used to install flooring.
A: I doubt it as in most applications it will need to be cut up to fit the area you are working in.
A: unknown we have laid flooring in our living room and bedroom and have purchased 2 of these and don't even get thru 1 box before we have to go bend it back
A: Really?
A: What were you hitting the pull bar with? I used a large rubber mallet and the pull bar did not lose it's shape at all. That was on 20 cases of flooring.
A: Thank you for your inquiry. Please contact your local Home Depot store for details of their return policy. If you have any questions regarding the product please call our Customer Service (866) 435-8665. Thank you for your interest in our product.
A: I used the spacing wedges and left a 3/8" gap all the way around. One thing to keep in mind is the size of the base of the baseboard you are using. You don't want to much of a gap that the baseboard won't cover.
A: Thank you Doll for your inquiry. The gap (expansion space) you need at the ends of your flooring will be specified by the flooring manufacturer. If you have any further questions please call our Customer Service (86) 435-8665. Thank you for your interest in our product.
A: you will need 1/4"
A: We use two shims standing or about 3/8 to 1/2 inch, base board trim covers gap, lets floor float or move due to shrinkage and expansion. Hope this helps.
A: Depending on what type of floor you are laying, click type or tongue and groove. Either way the only gap to be concerned with are the edges near the wall which there needs to be a 1/4 to 3/8 in. gap from the wall to allow the laminate to expand during hot/cold climate changes.
A: I wouldn't because laminate doesn't work well in humid environment
A: Angie, Thanks for the question. We wouldn't recommend laminated wood flooring for a bathroom. When wood is around moisture it has the potential be become damaged. If you have any more questions, please feel free to contact us at 866-435-8665. Thanks
A: You can install laminate flooring ln a bathroom, but if it gets too much moisture it will damage it. A good product for a wet environment is Alure Ultra Vinyl Plank flooring .
A: It depends, some is water resistant but most of it isn't. I would recommend tile, if you are looking for the wood look they have wood look tile that looks amazing.
A: No. The water and humidity will warp the laminate. I would recommend using vinyl planking that closely matches your laminate flooring. If you go to Walmart or your local grocery store, you will see the vinyl planking used in the floor.
A: Not really. You CAN use it, but if it's a high traffic bathroom with a tub/shower, you will begin to see the edges of any laminate flooring begin to curl up after frequent wetting. Even with the application of glue to the edges, it wears, then the edges start to lift. If it's a "half bath", you should be fine.
A: I would not recommend laminate flooring in a bath room it does not handle moisture well at all.
A: NO
A: It depends on the bathroom. It would be okay in a half bath were moisture is limited. But its not a good idea for a full bath as the moisture will cause the laminate to swell.
A: I would say no because you can not subject it to prolonged dampness, also not at the entry door.
A: Thank you for your inquiry. Yes, you can use this kit to install your flooring. We recommend that you contact the flooring manufacturer and review their installation instructions for all of the tools needed to install their flooring. If you have any further questions please call our Customer Service (866) 435-8665. Thank you for your interest in our product.
A: Yes, this kit worked for me when installing a laminate floating floor.
A: You may want a standard 16 oz hammer, a rubber mallet is just going to bounce back in your face when you whack the pull bar. The kit is great, we just needed to upgrade to the heavy duty pull bar about halfway through. Don't forget to apply the glue if it's going to be under the dishwasher, washer or fridge.
A: Yes, can use on any floating flooring.
A: Thank you for your inquiry, Our Laminate and Wood flooring installation kit can be used with your flooring. Please check with the flooring manufacturer for a complete list of tools needed for the installation of their product. If you have any further questions please call our Customer Service (866) 435-8665. Thank you for your interest in our product.
A: 1/4" - but you can tape two together to get the 1/2" needed.
A: they are 3/8 of an inch.
A: By putting 2 together they will provide 1/2" space
A: Thank you for your inquiry. Each spacer is 1/4" wide at its widest point, and by placing two or more spacers together it is possible to adjust the amount of expansion space up to 9/16" by simply adding another spacer. The spacers have “serrated” edges that lock them into the correct position once a board is placed against them. If you have any further questions please call our Customer Service (866) 435-8665. Thank you for your interest in our product.
A: When I used them it gave me a 3/8" space which was perfect with the width of my baseboard. They are a wedge so depending what end of the wedge you put down, will determine the space size.
A: The wedges are adjustable from 1/4 up to 1/2.
A: They can by stacking them. I find it easier to use scraps of flooring as spacers because: 1) I end up with lots of them, and 2) They are the same width of the board which doesn't damage anything. Why use a 1.25" wedge when you can use a 4" stop block with scraps lying around? There really isn't anything in this kit that I would recommend using. If you need shims, they have blocks of wooden shims in various locations around the store. There should be a box of them in the Lumber Dept, they will likely be in the Cabinet Dept, too. Further, the wooden shims are a staple I always have in my toolbox. I use them for lots of projects.
A: Enough of them will. Go to the store and buy a 1/2" deep board and cut it into several pieces. Cheaper and easier than stacking them to make 1/2"
A: They are 1/4 in. and is ample space for laminate to expand.
A: If you double them up, you will have 1/2"
A: no you shouldn't need it is only if you install it yourself good luck
A: Yes,the block and the other tool (helps in the hard to reach places) in the kit make the job so much easier to complete. You will also need a mallet or some kind to use with the block and tool.
A: no. only if you do it your self.
A: hahahahaha no.
A: no because they would bring the necessary tools for the job...
A: no
A: NO
A: I would think the installation crew would have all the necessary tools. Check with Home Depot. Also, I bought the installation kit as I installed the floor myself and the kit was of very poor quality and of very little use.
A: No, if you're having your flooring professionally installed the installers will have all the tools and equipment necessary to complete the installation for you.
A: no
