A: Fantastically! The best thing is how quiet it is (vs. a gas powered version)...you can sneak up on them and take care of business before they even know it! There is so much power too! You can go right through their decaying flesh and through the bone like a hot knife through warm butter! Even after all of that...it still can fell a tree in no time!

A: no but it has a bar cover
A: No but it does have a chain guard
A: No.
A: Any 40 volt battery works with it. I use the 4&5 amp. Go ahead and use a fully charged battery it should work. I have no trouble with mine, I do not use it for months at a time
A: It depends on where you store the batteries. If you store inside batteries won’t drain, but if in colder area press the button that displays how many bars left.If more than 1 bar gone then charge.
A: I have many ROBI tools and have many 20 volt & 40 volt batteries. I use the multi port chargers and leave the batteries in them so they are always ready when I need them. I always recharge a battery as soon as I have finished using a tool & never store the tool with the battery attached. Batteries used in this way seem to hold their charge for long periods of time, but I have never tried to figure out exactly how long.
A: there is a Battery status button just under the release bar. Push it & the 4 square charge lights light up & tell you the level of charge in the battery. I have 2 40v-4ah batteries, they are in constant use all spring, summer, fall. They sit idle all winter, mid dec to mid march. I haven't had to recharge any of my 40v or 18v batteries due to lack of use. The old ni-cads do discharge during storage. My lithium-ion batteries seem to hold their charge very well in storage.
A: My chain saw batteries haven't been used for over a year. I didn't charge them often, but I only charge when battery level has low.
A: I think you want to direct that question to Home Depot or Ryobi.
A: You want a rebate for 18 volt products because you are upgrading to 40 volt? Good luck and why would you expect something like that?
A: This question is addressed to Home Depot, not the equipment users.

A: I did not get a rebate at the time I bought my 40volt saw. I had two gift cards that I used to buy it. It is well worth the price, and I would recommend it to anyone!
A: I didn't!
A: About an hour and a half to two hour. I have 4 batteries. 2Ah, (2)4Ah, and 6Ah. I get about 20 minutes use with the 2Ah, 40 minutes with the 4Ah, and 60 minutes with 6Ah in my weedwhacker. Chainsaw is much less. It’s great for light use but if you have a lot to cut electric don’t compare to gas.
A: About 2 hours if the battery is cool. If you use it till it dies and the battery is hot. You will get the error signal from the charger. The saw comes with a 4 mAH battery. I put the battery in the refrigerator till it cools off. 15 minutes.
A: I can't answer the question since the charge has always lasted for as long as my jobs have needed. From the drain points I have experienced, I would say 3-4 hours.
A: It takes a couple hours to recharge batteries.I have extra batteries to use and it’s better to use 5 ,6 or 7.5 ah batteries for more power that lasts longer.
A: Hi, SFret. Thank you for your interest in the RYOBI 40V Brushless 16 in. Cordless Battery Chainsaw with 4.0 Ah Battery and Charger.
