A: Hi there! Depends on what type of application you're using them for to know how long they will last. The buffer bonnets are washable but don't dry them with heat.

A: I used the bonnet to buff my 36 foot camper. I didn’t wash it but I would say it is hand washable.

A: Hello OGCOOL13,
The 10" buffer is strictly for waxing. The unit motor I doubt has the torque to overcome the friction inherent to being a sander. I hope this helps.
Cheers,
Chris

A: Hi OGCOOL13, This buffer is not designed to be used as a sander. Thanks for asking. Greg

A: hluu, Use the low nap for wax application and the thicker (High Nap) for removal. Be sure the car is dry before you start to avoid wetting the edge of the pad as you remove the wax.

A: Microfiber puts on wax, wool does an excellent job of removing wax or residue

A: The wool and synthetic wool pads hold polishing and rubbing compounds for a more even distribution. Very helpful with rubbing compounds with random orbital machines for reducing swirls. One wool pad will last three to four cars when using a silicone based wax. Note here, do not mix compounds on the wool pads, between washings. The down side is that they will withstand only a few cleanings before the fibers clump and scratch too deeply. Wool also tends to shed, and even more so later in life. With shorter life spans and more abrasive quality, I do not favor the wool pads for compound removal.
Microfiber remove compounds very effectively, wash out well, and have a longer life than wool. Some guys like them for application, but I find microfiber to load up to quickly and become increasingly aggressive far too quickly. I do like them for removal of compounds, changing them as they load up. A compact car typically needs two, 10-inch microfiber bonnets to remove a silicone based wax applied in a cool shaded location, (vehicle size, sun, heat, humidity, and/or a heavy application may increase the need for additional bonnets on a single vehicle.)

Q:8 x 10? Is this adjustable to fit 6 to 10inch diameter?

Answer This Question
A: I think 8X10 means it fits an 8 to 10 inch buffer. Might be too big for a buffer smaller than 8 inches. The elastic wouldn't hold it tight enough to use.

A: Hi Redbrit1, sorry this is not adjustable down to 6 inches. This starts at 8 inch and goes to 10 inch.
