Q:Can I switch out existing 42sa+ with these? I like the spray pattern and easy adjustability of thus one.

Answer This Question
A: The 42SA rotors have a spray distance of 26 to 38 feet, depending on the water flow and pressure. These rotary sprinklers have a spray distance of 13 to 18 feet, so you want to make sure there is enough grass coverage between the sprays. You want to avoid dead spots, and these sprays are designed for head-to-head coverage, which means the end of one spray should just touch the beginning of the next spray. There is another rotary sprinkler that sprays 17 to 24 feet, which could be closer in distance to the 42SA, called 22SAPROPR, Store SKU #1005637008.
You also want to be aware that 42SA rotors have a 3/4" connection size, and the rotary sprinklers have a 1/2" size, so you would have to purchase connections that will step down the pipe size.

Q:When it says 13ft. to 18 ft. is that the "throw distance" such that the distance a water droplet will travel from the sprinkler head to where it lands or is that the diameter of the pattern such that the water droplet will travel 6.5ft to 9 ft if it was in a half circle pattern?

Answer This Question
A: It is the radius, which is the distance the water will travel from the sprinkler.

A: I believe it is the "throw distance". You adjust the sprinkler head to set the distance you need - from the sprinkler head.
by|Apr 30, 2021
A: That's the radius of the circle (or arc) created by the water pattern. It's a circle 13-18' radius or 26-36' in diameter.
