Answer This Question
A: The design is meant to be a tight fit to prevent leaks. You can try softening the end of the tubing by placing it in hot water or twisting the adapter onto the tubing.

A: Did you ever get it connected? I'll try the hot water trick, but so far, I literally can't push it hard enough... the guys make it sound easy, so I fear it's a chick thing. :((

A: The force is going to vary, but the connection is going to be tight since you are dealing with a pressurized system and want to prevent blow outs.
Twisting the fitting on or softening the tip of the tubing by dipping it in warm water for a few minutes can help get the fitting on.

A: I would recommend trying to connect this to the swing pipe in the store before buying everything. I bought the 100' coil of Rain Bird 1/2" swing pipe and installed it in my yard before trying to use this adapter to connect it to a hose bib. Absolutely impossible to connect it to the swing pipe. The inner diameter of the swing pipe is not large enough to fit around the inner white plastic connector inside this adapter. I realize you have to push hard. I pushed really hard. It would not connect. Will have to figure out a different way to connect it to the hose bib.

A: You push the tubing onto the end with the white inner ring. You may have to twist to get it on, as a reasonable amount of force is required, so that it does not come loose.

A: Push in until seated tight into the fitting. The irrigation pipe needs to not bend in the process. These work like sharkbite pex push in fittings.

A: Push the tubing in with your hands. It's difficult to get the tubing all the way in, though.

Q:Can the drip hose connection be separated once installed?

Answer This Question
A: No, it cannot be removed from the drip tubing once it is inserted. This is to ensure a strong seal/connection and prevent leakage. If you need to change the connection, please cut the tubing near the connector and replace with the appropriate connection you desire.

A: Pull and twist really hard, then cut off the roughed up tubing if you reuse the tubing. Yes, I have done this with no leaks later. Not recommended.

A: Unfortunately, no. I tried and it just stretched out the plastic in the tubing, but even still, I wasn't able to remove the tubing from this adapter.
