Q:What is the distance from the floor to the apron/bar under the table? I'm considering using this as a desk, so I need to figure out how ergonomic it will be. Thanks!

A: Please do not buy this table. We have had it for a little over a year and the wood has completely split down the middle. It is very poor quality

Q:Can this be left as is, since there?s a coating on it, or would polyurethane need to be applied over it?

Answer This Question
A: Hi- It would work fine as a table, but would absorb water and food stains without some additional protection. Could be paint, polyurethane, rubbed oil, etc.

Answer This Question
A: It has small clefts as if planks were put together. Pretty smooth though!

A: There are small clefts

A: There are grooves on the top to simulate wide planks. If you look on the bottom, you’ll notice it’s actually small planks glued together.

A: It is real wood. Not anything fancy like teak either.
You could finish it very carefully with outdoor paint, making sure to coat every surface on every piece of wood, but I suspect that even then that it will not last very long since it is made from finger jointed wood strips.

Answer This Question
A: Hi- the top came as one big piece. It was pretty quick to assemble. Not many parts overall (top, left side leg pair, right side leg pair, center cross beam).
