A:  The inside dimensions measure 5 in. x 5 in. This post cap is made for a true 5 in. x 5 in. post.

          Q:What is the outside dimension edge to edge for this New England cap? The web site says 5.25, but that can't be right. That would only be 1/8 inch more than the 5x5 post (which I measured and is exactly 5x5)

          A:  You want the cap to be tight. That would allow 1/8" thickness on each side. That's about right.

          Q:What is the difference between the Verando beveled top and the Verando pyramid top. They have the same shape and the prices are different. I'm confused.

          A:  The beveled is more flat while the pyramid has more of an incline.
