Questions and Answers for Zenith Trim Puller Multi-Tool for Baseboard, Molding, Siding and Flooring Removal, Remodeling

A:  This trim pulling tool has been a pleasant surprise.  I used it to gently pull floor molding for a large drywall repair.  I have also used it to remove a bathroom countertop where I needed to save 2 porcelain sinks.  It gave me much needed leverage on the nailed/glued areas without getting a sledgehammer out. I would recommend this tool.

A:  You will have the best chance of getting it off without damaging it with this tool.

A:  Yes that’s exactly what I used this for to remove base boards and crown molding. Works well for that application. Just be careful and let the tool to the job. 

A:  No, this is not the tool for that job. The tool is used to get behind vertical floor trim to remove it from the wall.

A:  If the plywood is a strip that is nailed to the wall and tiles applied it would more than likely work. However if you are trying to loosen the tiles from the substrate I would not recommend it. Likewise if you have a large expanse of plywood (similar to a sink or stove back splash) this woud not be the best tool to use.

A:  Maybe. The trim puller could start separating the edge depending on how the securely plywood is fastened. But a larger flat bar, demolition tool or crow bar would make easier removal of a full sheet. Especially if screws and or adhesive was used.

A:  Maybe, I haven't tried it for that. It is a heavy duty tool that is really designed and works well for removing baseboard trim.

A:  There is another better tool for that kind of work, it is Zenith Floor Lifter.

A:  Yes it will help however there are better tools made specifically for this purpose. The tiles are going to break up anyway and it would be much faster and easier on you with the proper tool.

A:  That is not what it was made to do. But give it a try, the investment in the tool is not great.

A:  It might. I’ve only used mine on wood trim and it is excellent. The blade on this tool is pretty heavy duty. If you’re removing tiles from a large area I would recommend a demolition tile bar/scraper.

A:  Flooring glued to sub floor is always a difficult problem. With patience and a hammer this tool may be helpful. Undoubtedly you'll still have the remnants of glue to remove even after the flooring is gone.

A:  This is a great removal tool that probably would remove the tile though it may be difficult to get it started and difficult to get through the glue..... you will need room to use a hammer to get it started......and the tiles depending on how glued they are might break up...it might be slow going removing tile in this manner....though I love this tool and use it often in many different ways

A:  Use a regular floor scraper, the job will go much faster. Mike
