Premium is not a grade that I’d call these cedar 2x4s. I only needed 2 that were reasonably straight, had few knots, and edges without bark or were not chewed up. The lumber pile was a mess and it took a half hour to find 2 that still weren’t very good. I straightened the whole pile before I left.

Wood was nice and straight, not warped; however, selection was slim.

I needed three 2x4s so I got four good thing as they sat in my shop for a couple of days and they started to warp I needed two long pieces and was lucky they were straight when I left the store one warped so bad almost not useable it bowed and twistedI used in one foot sections.

I only needed this single piece of cedar to repair the ribbon around a step. I had a difficult time finding a straight board among the 14 or so pieces in the bin. I finally found a straight board and bought it. When it came time to use this piece, I couldn't find 46 inches of good corners on this board. The corner was chipped or chewed off on either side and I couldn't get a good corner to put on the step. I couldn't find an associate so I told the cashier. Her reply was that someone should be restocking that shelf pretty soon. I didn't have time to wait for pretty soon. I can't return the board because I had cut it. I repaired the step but not with the help of Home Depot. Check the lumber carefully because this store keeps stock in the bins forever.

Erin in the lumber department cut the product into 4” pieces for me at no charge. Great service and saved me a lot of time on my project. He was friendly too.

Not good quality at all

I USED THESE BOARDS TO BUILD A GATE FOR MY DECK.

The lumber was straight so it worked really good for some repairs on my grandchildrens play set. Some of the edges were splintered but a little sanding got it nice and smooth. After staining and sealing it turned out looking good and safely functional.

Wood is mostly dry, but you'll probably have to spend quite a bit of time weeding out cupped, bowed, crooked, chipped pieces...
