The respirator works fine until the straps loose all elasticity (within a year). Then, I called 3M, and they had no replacement straps (Part 6281) on hand. They offered to contact Home Depot for a refund if I could produce my receipt from within the year. No finding that receipt. So, I now have two unsafe respirators. Thank you 3M. Not my daddies 3M anymore!

After years of using the cheap paper masks, I got serious and bought the 3M 6200 medium mask. Great choice! I'm 6' 1" and 160 just to give you a reference. I've used the mask for drywall sanding and when applying drywall sealer that had an inordinately high VOC level of fumes. In both cases, I could breathe easily. Amazingly, I never smelled the fumes, but the minute I took off the mask and went back in the room, the fumes were too bad too stay there and work. I was remodeling three bathrooms so the spaces were rather confined. You will have to twist the filter cartridges on with what may seem like too much force. One drawback to the mask is that it makes you sweat where the rubber seal contacts your skin. You'll probably want to remove it after 30 to 60 minutes of work just to relax a bit. Another issue is that while you can wear glasses and use the mask, it is likely your glasses will ride up higher on your nose because they rest on the top edge of the mask. You get used to it while working. BUT, if you wear progressive lenses and you go down steps wearing the mask, it is dangerous because your sense of where the stairs are is wrong. It could be easy to overstep the tread and go tumbling down. Be very careful. All that said, I still think this is a great product.

Working at making my shop safer and healthier and while I keep it well ventilated, I knew a respirator is not only a nice thing to have, but a must! 3M products have always been good for me and when I saw this mask, I knew I had to try it out. Today I was working with Danish oil finish, figured it would be a good safe product to try the mask with. I put it on, opened up my product and put the finish on 4 shelves. Easy to breath through, comfortable on my head and it was not until I took it off did I even smell the Danish oil. I have no scientific study to prove this is working, but it seemed to work great on this. You need a respirator, protect your lungs and buy one of these, a name you know and can trust.

This particular respirator worked awesome it was comfortable and easy to put together and take apart, I would definitely recommend this product to everyone in need of a great comfortable respirator that keeps you safe from harmful fumes.

While I will admit to wearing this because it's the smart thing to do. This mask is more comfortable than those I've used in the past so I've been better at wearing it as I should when working with fiberglass. It is also very good fighting the fumes of polyester resin. It seals well and has excellent airflow so it stays cooler than masks I have used in the past. Very important when shop temperatures are hitting 85F. I wish someone would make a mask that fit this well but allowed for eye glasses to ride comfortably on the bridge of the nose. All in all I am very pleased with this respirator.

For the price, 3M should use a better quality straps. The mask is excellent, but it won't take long for the straps to tear apart.

We're renovating an 1800s farmhouse with plaster walls and 1970s blown-in insulation. This respirator has been a literal life saver. Fits great, breathes great, makes me feel very safe. Highly recommended.

My store only had this mask in “Medium”. This size is far too small for an adult.

Works great and cheap enough that it can be thrown away when done, sturdy enough that you can wash it and change the filters if you want

This is my second purchase of this product, for my son this time. The mast body fits well and is very comfortable. The filtration is excellent, both particulates and VOCs. It's also very durable and easy to clean.
