When we bought our home, we made sure to have the chimney inspected, and everything checked out. On a rare, cool winter night in Virginia, we adjusted the flue and started a fire, only to find smoke sneaking in the house from around the metal fireplace cover. We bought this in the store, followed the directions Exactly, and forgot about it for several months. I went to clean up around the edges and found the 'sealant' had dried & flaked off, Horribly! No seal was left, just dried chunks.

Fire Block worked well to seal a pre-existing hole in an electrical box. The product is easy to use and works as described.

Works Great . On older flue pipes

it worked like a dream from my application, the grey coloring just happened to be the color that I needed that was unexpected but very nice. The temperature rating was the final decision maker for me to purchase, the rest of the fireblocks didn't have heat ratings on the label. All in all I would recommend this product to anybody looking to seal high temperature leeks and or heat evacuation points from any closed loop duct system.

Worked really well on my pellet stove, had to seal the joints up on the top stack of the stove it leak from time to time probably have to do this each season.

I used the 3M Fireblock 136 sealant to block drafts into the wall containing my electrical service panel. The major appliance wires had to be rerun due to animal pests, probably squirrels, that ate the copper and shielding off the cable. while the power had been turned off over a two year period. The photo shows the use of the fire-block at the base of the knee wall. The material readily sealed the wire pathways through the floor and created a barrier to air and critters of all types.

Not to messy. Did the job and match the coloring of the surrounding ceiling.

I was shocked to find out when this arrived that it is for interior use only. Specifically states that this is water based so hardened product will liquify if it gets wet. Since most ares needing fire protection always has a possibility of getting wet, this product can not be reliable.

Easy to use and the color blended well with the color siding i was using it on.

Unfortunately the only rating I can give is poor because I picked it up in the evening and went to use it the next day but it was hard as a rock.

I recently learned that there are several versions of this. Something called "Fire Barrier", Fire Lock" and "Fire Block". It's all related to "time". One is good for 3 hours another for 3 days and another is permanent. Choose wisely.

I needed a filler to replace cracked seam where my fireplace box meets the hearth. Of course, fire resistance was a must. The sealant worked great. I'll have to see how it wears over time.

Quick dry. Easy to use. Met expectations.

This was easy to use and sealed the crack in the bottom of the fireplace. Not sure how it will holdup over time.
