24 inch on center trusses or jack rafters which is very common would render an inside measurement of a 22 1/2 inch bay , from inside face of member to inside face of member. Making these difficult to attach to bottom of roof member with out stretching the vent. These should be 24 inches wide so that there would be a 3/4 of an inch tab/surface of the vent to attach to the bottoms of the the roof framing members

I am sorry for your confusion - these attach to the roof deck and allow for the 1" of air space required between the roof deck and the insulation according to building codes.

These are a perfect fit for the space between my sticks of wood holding other pieces of wood that are holding my roofing . They do a great job of holding the fluffy stuff off the upper wood so all the wood can breath well and not become a molding mess

Good product
I only needed about 24 rafter vents so i bought 4 of these individually, and two 10 packs of the styrofoam baffles. I installed these first, got thru 2 styrofoam ones, and said nope. Went to return the styrofoam and use just these. I have an existing attic with 6” insulation and the old cardboard baffles were sagging. These are rigid enough to 1) hold their own weight without breaking and 2) help pick up the ends of my existing cardboard baffles where im overlapping a bit. The styrofoam cant do that nor can it hold itself without cracking . This is a cheap easy to use functional product.

This product was purchased because nothing else was available at the time. Boy were we glad! This was an easy install, cost effective, energy saving item(s). It took about 30 minutes to install 17 of them.
This will save your attic vents from getting plugged up with blow-in insulation & allows for better circulation! Recommended!

Makes Great Door Panels
I needed a quick fix for my missing door panels in my 95 SC300. After heading to Home Depot to grab some 24inch x 48inch sheet metal to fab something up I realized just how heavy they were going to be. That’s when I took a stroll through the store and stumbled upon this godsend. Super light and basically the exact dimensions as my door, super easy to cut openings for handles/speakers/window switches/etc, it was the perfect fix for me, and best of all? It was only $2.57! 100% will recommend to the rest of the automotive community!

These are made to fit a 24" on center opening and applied to the roof deck. Once in place they can be torn off the staples with force, then reapplied in the correct position.

Rating of ZERO stars. It does not work.
IT DOES NOT FIT A 24 INCH RAFTER CENTER. I just bought 6 pcs. for a test. My house has 24 in. O.C. rafters.
The advertising is VERY misleading. It quotes "16 or 24 inch rafter" BUT the product is NOT intended to fasten to the rafters,. but the under-side of the sheathing.
See the product info sheet at:
https://images.homedepot-static.com/catalog/pdfImages/f3/f3d25094-0011-432e-a788-e75fddd8ff49.pdf
The advertising shows the product fastened to the underside of the sheathing. It isnt possible to do this unless the sheathing is already installed, because this product is not wide enough to span the rafter spacing.
The item is 22 inches wide as advertised BUT that is 1-1/2" too narrow. IF the rafter is 24 in. O.C. then the vent must ALSO be 24 inches wide to extend to (about) the center of each rafter for fastening. As-is at 22 inches wide even stretched as far as possible, it is not possible to attach these to the **rafters.**
This is not good because:
1. The one-inch high gap does NOT provide enough air-space, especially since the product does not have a flat, smooth surface - th X-stamped into the plastic will cause turbulence. A one-inch high space TWENTY feet long will NOT flow much air.
2. It is NOT possible to install this product as advertised, from UNDER the roof, inside the attic. UNLESS the roof slope is EXTREMELY steep. It is absolutely impossible on a 4:12 slope. The drawings are deceptive.... they show a very steep slope roof with inside access to the notch and wall.
It might be possible on an 8:12 or 10:12 pitch.
3. Far too much flow restriction if installed as advertised
I tried to install this product sideways (from inside the attic, sideways across the bottom of the rafters) and it wont fit that way either.
Its also too narrow to attach to the inside of the rafter (between adjacent rafters)
I have tested using GAF Poly Iso Foam board to block the BOTTOM of the rafter top-chord (2x6 rafter, 5-1/2" high) , the air flow is AMAZING, Id estimate about FIVE times. Its enough to move my hair when standing up in the attic. Blocking across the bottom of the top chord (the board that the roof sheathing is fastened to) gives a 16 or 24 inch wide by FIVE inch deep ventilation space. that doesnt restrict the airflow like a one-inch space enclosed by this product which is not flat (it has an X- pattern to make the thin,. cheap material stiffer)
This product is very poor quality product. Very thin plastic.

Thank you for your comments - please refer to IECC codes for the proper amount of airflow in an attic. Roof pitches do come in many different slopes, some are easier to re-insulate than others. We manufacture polystyrene (foam) vents as well as high impact polystyrene vents (proVents). The proVents work better when you are re-insulating and need to a sturdier product to push in place. ProVents will not tear as they are being pushed along nails or staples that are protruding from the roof deck.
