I bought these as part of a master bedroom renovation. The price and logistics at HD were far better than some other websites I saw out there. I purchased two samples of faux wood beams to make sure the colors matched what I wanted. After I placed the order, I was pleasantly surprised that the delivery time was much sooner than the website advertised. In talking with a carpenter, we strategized on how best to mount them as I was looking for something a little bit non-standard. The finished product was exactly what I wanted. The beams are sturdy, can be cut easily, and secured to just about anything. Perfect!

We installed four of the beams in our loft and are delighted with the realistic look we achieved. The shipment was well packaged and arrived damage free. We used a miter saw to cut the wood mounting blocks which saved us considerable time because they need to be beveled in order to fit inside the beam properly. The beams were easy to saw and the final finishing of the recessed screws holes with wood filler was quick and easy. We probably spent 12+ hours from start to finish and it was well worth the time. Excellent product and fine customer service from both the supplier and Home Depot!

It is lightweight, cut easily, and I was able to find instructions for installing on youtube. It looks very realistic, and added character to my kitchen/dining room. Very pleased with this purchase.

It matched the existing foam boards. Looks good. Looks like real wood. Took a bit to arrive but overall very pleased.

The product is great but it would have been even better to have the wood blocks/ceiling studs to come already measured for easier assembly. However, the beams look great and were packed securely inside the boxes and delivered on time.

Looks great. Bought the rubber straps to cover where we joined some added on length pieces. You will need them if your beams are not long enough. The beams come somewhat crooked but are bendable enough to screw into your wood base piece(s).

Shipped well boxed & quickly! Happy to say they look like real wood. Installation was smooth, watched a lot of videos online to get helpful hints. Ended up installing with a staple gun, covered the staples with stain and they are unnoticeable.

I didn’t realize it was polystyrene foam but we ordered them anyway. Once up, they look amazing!! We love them and everyone else that has seen them, loves them too.

The finish on it does look realistic, but the dimensions of it are all over the place. Varies in width of almost 2" on the inside and outside, so very hard to line up the 2 I purchased end to end and to hang. Even had a contractor start to help me and he told me to take them back.

We loved the faux beam that was ordered. The only issue was that it got damaged during shipping. Since we didn't need the entire length, we were able to cut off the damaged part. The company did refund our shipping costs due to the damage.

The faux beams are good quality and look really real when installed. I highly recommend them.

This product looks great once installed. The major challenge we had with this product is that it is not a 90 degree angle U. The sides of the beam are slightly angled out making it difficult to measure and cut the support blocks to fit inside the beam. It worked out for us, but we were worried that because our blocks didn't match the angle it wouldn't hold well. No worries, though, we cut a straight edge and it holds just fine.

Home Depot was fantastic to work with. Seamless purchase and delivery (unlike competitors). The beam is a wonderful addition to our vaulted master bath where a gorgeous chandelier now hangs from the center of the beam.

I made my purchase after reading other reviews that were positive. The product is very realistic and looks great. I did order 2 sample 6 inch pieces with my order. I required 2 of the long sections. Just a suggestion in case your situation is like mine. I needed the 6 inch pieces so I could do the cut out / shave of the end so it would appear that the beam is coming out of the sheet rock and cut/shaved the ends to mold around my crown molding. It did take some shaping, but so glad I did this because it required constant up and down to see how it fit against the wall and crown molding before I got it right. Perhaps this would not be hard for a lot of people, but this was actually the hardest part for me. ** I did order the double wide strap that looks like cast iron. Once I got it, I cut it in the middle to give me double the length of " U strap". I used this item to hide the seems where the beams met along the ceiling. My situation may not be yours, 13 ft was too short, so I ordered two 13 ft sections. Because I had to do this alone, after the two 6 " sections were up on each end of the wall, I then measured out three 5 ft plus sections of beam that I cut, placed on the ceiling to fit flush with each other, then hid the seems with the faux iron straps. The end result was exactly as expected and looks very good. Hope this was not too much detail, but may give the reader some ideas that may help. I can say that if you are alone as some of the reviews I read indicated, I can see no way one person can place a single 13 ft section alone. My beam is on a high section of ceiling so that made the project harder for me. This is a project managed alone, but if you have someone to help I am sure it would be a lot easier and more fun to do. Hope this helps. BTW, it was delivered by Estes Deliver on an 18 wheeler, which I had not expected. I had to put the package in the garage because it was so long. It was packaged very well, the smaller pieces were delivered UPS to the door. Just wanted to pass on the delivery experience also. Also, to finish the project I had to purchase a 2x4 that I cut and put up in the ceiling in sections. I did use self drilling wood screws from the sides of the beam that drill into the 2x4 section that holds the beam up. I had to purchase (because I did not have these ) the drill bit #1 square bit to go with the screws I purchased. I already had the Walnut wood filler that you can get at Home Depot to dab over the screws once I had them drilled in. You may want to keep these items in mind also that will be needed to complete the project.
