This toilet was recommended by a friend of mine for my half bath. I thought I would give it a try and buy one. The replacement of our old toilet with this one was easy. The small foot print of this one made our bath look larger than before, the upgrade definitely gave it a more modern look, and the flushing power is great. Another good characteristic of this toilet is how quiet it is. I would recommend this make and model to anyone.

So impressed with this product. It was smartly boxed, with clever packaging that saves space but keeps all components protected. In the box is the base, with wax ring and bolts, the tank with the valve, flapper, and lever already in place, and the soft-close lid with mounting hardware. The instructions are clearly written and illustrated - perhaps the best I've seen. I couldn't be more impressed.

DO NOT BUY!!!! This is not a 1 start toilet... it is a NO start toilet. Installed the toilet and went to put the toilet seat on. That is when I discovered the holes for the seat in the porcelain were machined at 5 and 3/4 center to center! Toilet seat holes are 5 and 1/2 center to center. Long story short the entire porcelain bowl is unusable! I called American Standard and they say they've never had this happen before. This is a complete lack of quality control. How are their machined holes off by a quarter of an inch!?!?!?!?! My only option is to return it to the point of purchase and exchange. I'll be returning this toilet to HD but I will NOT be exchanging. WARNING! Only buy this toilet if you plan on opening the box in store and hand measuring all the machined holes to make sure everything is up to code! What a JOKE!

This was the second one we purchased at Home Depot. Works good no problems. It is a good price and easy to install. We got it on sale, even better. The first one was purchased over a year ago and is fine. The dimensions were what we needed for the bathrooms.

I installed this as my first by myself toilet after watching people change others through the years. So easy! The hardest part was taking the old one out! Would recommend for anyone even first time installers. I'm getting a second for my next one that needs replacing!

It was a very easy and smooth install. Installed it in less than one hour and I am not a professional plumber. All parts are included in the kit and the installation works with so much ease. I did not need the thick ring because my floor is properly levelled. The flush is awesome with enough pressure to push down the business of the hour! As advised, it also cleans the toilet bowl with enough pressure from the flush. I highly recommend this product.

This product is GREAT, the toilet came with everything you needed for the install. This company used common sense and smart installation tools, holding washers/nuts and instructions clearly worded & illustrations. The price was right ($148.00/Home Depot) for a well engineered, efficient product. It flushes VERY quietly and quickly, holding down the lever for larger deposits works best, quick push for liquid deposits is sufficient. Very refreshing and enjoyable to install w/o any hassles and a quality working product.

American Standard nailed it with this one. This toilet comes with everything (except the water supply) that you need for complete and easy installation and it even comes with a soft close seat. The easiest toilet I have ever installed. You don't even need to cut the toilet bolts. Awesome flushing power too.

It has been just over a year since I had this installed as part of my bathroom remodel and I'm looking for a replacement. It's not that I have a problem with the operation but rather that it is defective. It came with a crack on the rim of the toilet bowl that I noticed too late. It started small and has grown but it affects nothing other than looking tacky and I can live with that. It started leaking a few drops about 6 months ago on the floor, no big deal, just wipe up a few drops every other day. I attributed it a gasket seal between the tank and bowl but it is getting worse, today much worse and I was forced to wedge myself between the shower door and toilet to determine the cause. What I found was a crack in the tank around the flush handle so this spells doom for the toilet and additional expenses for me. Don't get me wrong...if it were not for the cracks/leaks I would have been completely satisfied. Once again you get what you pay for. Next up is Kohler and I hope to do better.

A non plumber just installed for me and it took him about an hour start to finish. It was a nice install without problems. It looks good and surprised me at first when it flushed so strongly, its not a wimpy toilet. I did buy a heavier duty wax ring for it. There were no leaks after install. This is not the cheapest or most expensive and was a great choice at about 120 I think it was. Would recommend.

              flushes great, awkward to clean
I almost love this toilet. It replaced one that needed regular plunging to help it do its regular job, and this new one flushes great -- and doesn't just reliably get rid of waste, but is quiet-ish about it, uses less water, and seems to leave the bowl pretty clean afterwards. The one thing I do *not* like is the toilet seat apparatus. The slow-close lid is fine, works well, but there are so many nooks and crannies that I'll never be able to keep it clean. With this design it'd take a power washer and an army of nanobots to do a decent job of it. I'll keep cleaning what I can -- and then replace the seat with something simpler once it starts to get nasty.

Nice toilet - Good instructions - Clean installation
I installed this toilet for my parents who are getting older. My dad is someone who doesn't really like change, but because he doesn't get around well, we thought switching out his toilet for a "right height" toilet might make things easier. However, even-though there didn't seem to be a huge different between the height of the old toilet and the height of the new toilet, he loved it. He said it was much easier to get up after "sitting" for a while. So...... if for no other reason, I would recommend this toilet because of the taller height. Installation was fairly straight forward. The toilet comes complete with seat, lid and a wax ring. It does not include the supply line. Connecting the tank to the base was easy. It only takes two nuts and bolts (included) and 3 minutes and the connection was made The only con that I would say about this toilet...I didn't think the seat was very nice. It kinda felt "plasticy" and "light duty" . However, my parents seem to like that too. One more thing....I would recommend an elongated toilet over a round toilet whenever space permits. ***Note*** When flushing.... it seems as though you need to give the handle a good push completely down and hold it for a second or two to get a complete flush.

                Everything is in the box!
This comes with everything needed to replace your old toilet. It comes with a tool to tighten the bolts, the wax ring, the floor bolts & caps, & seat. Installation was easy & took maybe 30-45 minutes, but definitely less than an hour. The instructions were well written & easy to understand. A nice feature is the EverClean surface which is supposed to keep the surface cleaner for longer & inhibit bacteria growth. I like the sound of that. Another great feature is the slow close seat. It will not slam down, thus avoiding the heart stopping "crack" that accompanies the seat falling. The toilet also meets the EPA certification as a WaterSense toilet, meaning it does the job with less water. The toilet is working great & I do not have any complaints. I have not had any clogs even with the small amount of water that the toilet uses. My one recommendation would be to buy a long supply line when you purchase this. It has a higher tank & the old supply line might be too short.

                Trusted Brand, Quality Toiolet
I like the American Standard brand. Their toilets feature a patented, permanent EverClean surface, which inhibits the growth of stain and odor-causing bacteria, mold and mildew on the entire toilet surface. With the addition of this toilet all 3 of my bathrooms have American Standard in them. This particular model went in the guest bathroom. One thing I like is the fact it is truly a tool less install, as stated on the owners manual. You may need a few tool to remove your existing toilet but will not need any to install this model. Hand tight the bowl to the floor, using the included plastic tool and tighten the nut on the tank to the bowl. Take your time; follow the 8 steps for installation. Within an hour your new toilet should be ready for years of service. NOTE: The packing list shows Attachment Handles with Nuts quantity 2. That is incorrect. Included with this model - The plastic tool 2 nuts and 2 plastic washers are in a bag by themselves. So don’t freak and call wondering where the missing parts are.

                NO DOUBT
NO DOUBT THIS TOILET SAVES WATER, IN COMPARISON TO THE OLD TOILET THIS CADET 3 REPLACED, IT SAVES AT LEAST 40% OF WATER, AT LEAST IT SURE SEEMS THAT WAY. INSTALLATION OF THIS PRODUCT, WAS EASY AND DIRECTIONS WERE EASY TO UNDERSTAND. THEY SUPPLY A PLASTIC SOCKET WRENCH, WHICH MAKES IT EASY TO BOLT DOWN THE TANK TO THE BASE OF THE TOILET. ALSO WHAT I THOUGHT WAS A GOOD IDEA, IS THAT THE PLASTIC STAR NUTS THAT BOLT THE TOILET TO THE FLOOR, MADE IT EASY TO SENSE THE TORK OF PRESSURE NEEDED, AS WELL AS TO PREVENT RUST. WELL DONE.

                A great DIY replacement choice
We selected this American Standard Cadet toilet because of features like the 1.28 GPF feature and the comfort height. The instructions were helpful and I was pleased to find the internal tank components fully assembled and installed. The toilet bowl is well finished, fully glazed and seems to be of good quality. It flushes well. It should be noted that the slow close toilet seat, all the installation hardware, the wax bowl seal and even a handy plastic hand wrench are included with this toilet making it a great DIY replacement choice.

American Standard Cadet Ultra Low 2-piece 0.92/1.28 GPF Dual Flush Right Elongated
The 2-piece Cadet Ultra Low Dual Flush Right Elongated Toilet is wonderful on water consumption without losing performance! The dual flush offers a 0.92 gallon flush or 1.28 gallon flush depending on your needs for best performance. The height of the toilet and the elongated seat are two features that offer comfortable and easily accessible sitting. The white toilet is finished with a permanent surface of EverClean for easier cleaning and that helps it stay cleaner, longer. This is my second Cadet toilet to be installed. Can wait to see how much I save on my next water bill!

                Excellent Flush
This toilet really has an impressive flush. The toilet looks petite because of the round bowl and smaller tank but it functions as good as, or better than, any elongated bowls that I have had the occasion to use. It outperforms an old 1.6gpf American Standard that I still really like because it never has problems. The tank fills quietly and the flush is quick and quiet, as well. The bowl has a standard round drain that fits a normal plunger, but I honestly don't foresee needing one often. Installation was a breeze. The instructions are easy to follow and handling the weights of the separate tank and bowl are manageable for one person. Tools for attaching the bowl to the floor and the tank to the bowl are provided with the toilet. The only additional items needed were a trash bag, some rags and I used some thin painters tape to mark the floor for the bolts for when I placed the toilet bowl. It took longer to remove the old toilet and clean up, than to install this. As far as looks, its a toilet, but I do really like the ridged tank cover which keeps items from sliding off. The seat cover is a "slow-close" seat so I have to push it down to close the lid before flushing (germs) and because I have a cat that likes to play in water. I might replace the cover just as a personal preference, but there is nothing wrong with it. This is an all around awesome product and the water savings is a plus.

                sleek and stylish toilet
This toilet is sleek and stylish with an elegant design. It arrived as four separate pieces, the bowl, the tank, the tank lid, and the toilet seat. All pieces are porcelain with the exception of the toilet seat which is a lightweight plastic. It was easy to assemble. We are currently working on building a small powder room in our basement so we aren't quite ready to install it just yet. It has a small bowl (meaning not the elongated bowl) which will be the fit perfect. The porcelain is crisp white with an elegant silver handle to flush, this will be the perfect toilet for our powder room!

                Great toilet, powerful flush
Our entire home had the "low height" toilets... which is great for our toddlers - but kind of annoying for us. The bowl on this toilet sits a little higher than the standard units, and uses a seat that's a little chunkier / thicker than normal. The end effect is a really comfortable position for a full grown adult. It's noticeably easier on the knees and back to get up and down (I have the back of a 70 year old). The flush mechanism on this toilet is very powerful. My old toilet takes 3 to 3.5 seconds to drain the bowl and has a "swirling" motion. This toilet takes less than 2 seconds, and has an interesting motion. It "pulses up" a quarter inch, then vacuums the entire bowl in one motion. If you have thin ABS drains (like me) it sounds like a cannonball racing down the pipe. Very VERY powerful flush, and effective. My old toilet's swirling motion would sometimes fail to clear the bowl - this one has not failed yet. Installation was a breeze... 60 minutes max, plus another 30 to remove the old unit. The box contains literally everything you need except a water supply line. It had a wax ring, new bolts/washers/nuts, the bowl, the seat, and the tank. The tank mechanics are already installed, including the handle. All you have to do is adjust the final "water level" after you have it installed... and that only requires twisting a phillips head screw to raise or lower the water level. Assembly went like this: remove old toilet, clean wax off flange, stick new wax on bowl, stick new bolts in flange, drop bowl in place, tighten two bolt nuts, drop tank in place, tighten two tank nuts, drop seat in place, tighten two seat nuts, connect water supply, tinker with the water fill level. DONE. All around, awesome toilet. I will use Cadet 3's when my other toilets need replaced. Also - FYI... you can order OEM American Standard handles in different colors if your bathroom doesn't use chrome.

                Really good for the price.
I have to say that I really like this toilet. It's very powerful and fills up fast, not to mention it's quiet. Was very simple to install, and will look great in any bathroom. The water spins in this toilet instead of just a hard push like the more expensive ones do, and the self closing lid is kind of light duty, so it takes a while to close. Other than those two things, it's worth every penny!

                GREAT BUY
I'll be honest, it a long time for this toilet to get shipped to me. But it was worth the wait! I really like this toilet. We are replacing the original toilets in our house from the 1970's. The toilet arrived in good condition, and was easy to install. I know most prefer the elongated toilet, but my guest bathroom is pretty small so I chose the round. It really makes a difference with the higher seat. It is awesome

                Clean Look, Clean Flush
The Cadet 3 kit included everything I needed to perform the installation except for the supply line, no big deal since I always install a new braided line anyhow! The quality of the product was obvious as I examined the components out of the box; this included the instructions which were well illustrated - I could have done it without, but they did contain appropriate cautions for the less experienced. While the instructions say "No Tools Installation", they really mean none of yours since a plastic attachment handle is provided for the tank-to-bowl and seat-to-bowl connections. For the installation, I did not use the supplied wax seal; I used an aftermarket alternative (review should be posted on HD site under the Plumbing tab). Features I like: 1) 1.28 gallons/flush; saves water and it cleans with a single, audibly powerful flush 2) Large water spot in bowl helps keep bowl clean 3) Slow close seat and lid prevents damage from dropping lid on bowl rim 4) Entire surface is coated with permanent "Ever Clean" surface - prevent staining and growth of mold, mildew, and bacteria (only time will tell) 5) Lifetime warranty on Chinaware; 5 year warranty on Mechanical; 1 year warranty on Seat/Lid Some photos of the installed toilet and its features are attached. Compared to the other toilets I've had in the past 28 years, I am impressed! I would recommend this product.

Faulty fill valve on brand new toilet
We ordered 3 of these to install in our remodeled bathrooms. We've been using them for 10 days and one of them is already messed up -- the fill valve makes a hissing sound and it's unclear if water is leaking or if there's something else going on. Either it came defective or the quality is so poor, it couldn't last longer than a week. Very disappointed.
                by
Overall a good product, and a great improvement over what it replaced, but it looses a star because the wax ring that was included was different from the one described in the instructions and in the tutorial video - it didn’t have the inner plastic sleeve, and there was no way to tell which side was up or down. I wound up having to buy a separate inner sleeve. There was no delivery; I picked it up at the store and loaded it into my truck.
