The left side vertical retention came out easily, but the right side one was so tight I had to cut it out with a oscillating multi-tool. Fortunately for me another review (8 years back!!) mentioned using ½” angle iron (aluminum) and turns out that was a genius idea. I bought 2 8ft pieces, cut them to 2 x (6ft + 2ft) sections, pre-drilled them with 7/64” bit, redrilled through the angle iron into the frame and then installed with #6 self tapping screws Big improvement over bad design

We enjoy installation of this series of storm doors. Having installed many styles and brands for our customers, this is by far the highest quality, easiest and most affordable of all. I comes with the hinge rail already attached, so as long as you measure correctly and order the right size it's plug and play. The guides help with placement and all you have to do is screw it on. Also the holes for the latch are pre drilled so that saves three steps and the possibility of making a mistake. All around great storm door!

I struggled with buying this door or a Larson model at another big box store. The Anderson was more money, and I thought I was getting a better quality door, I was wrong. First the packaging, the door had no protection on it and although the box was not damaged the door was loaded with scuffs and scratches. Normally there is a practice film over the metal door. Even the instructions say it may have film over the door. Yet the higher end 300 model has none? Maybe time to switch brands

I have installed several storm doors over the course of my life. This was the first time I installed one where the swing was already determined and it really saved time. Since the frame is already assembled including the drip cap it was extremely quick to put up. Overall the quality and appearance of the door is very good. We paid extra for the etched glass which added quite a bit to price and also delayed getting the door but definitely worth it because it really made the door classier and my wife loves it! Noted other reviews that complained about how hard it is to change to screen. I would also add that since this it a full view door if I did install the screen it would last long anyway because of kids/grandkids/dogs!!! Fortunately for us the screen went up to the garage attic where it remain forever. We have plenty of screens in the windows anyway and we wanted a door for the view, not ventilation.

I just realize a big scharch on the mirror after i put the door on.

I installed the door frame in minutes. It came with the glass panel already installed. I removed the glass to replace with the screen and that is where 2 days of frustration have come from. First of all, the screen is a piece of crap. And secondly, it is literally impossible to install. The glass is easy, but the screen is impossible. I was hesitant to purchase based on some reviews, but others said it was great. Big mistake. Do not purchase this door unless you enjoy frustration!

5 stars for Andersen’s product, but it has issues. Found metal shavings in the box, but glass was intact. Door handle cutouts are sharp; I got cut during installation. Wear gloves! Two screws broke while attaching the return piston, despite pre-drilling. Poor quality screws. Hope this helps future buyers.

I got this storm door about 1.5 mos. ago but recently had it installed. It’s only been about a week since being installed. It seems to fit my needs, it’s not the sturdiest door, but I paid around $250 + handle-lock hardware ($65). I hope that it lasts for years. I’m using it w/the glass; it included a screen which seems very fragile but I don’t care as I don’t plan on using it.

I’ve had the door for three years. The plastic strips that hold the glass/screen are hard to manage and they’re too stiff. Each year one snaps: the upper, the lower, this year it’s the one by the handle.

Door missing frame catch latch, please provide same.

Easiest storm door install ever. I was done in less than 45 mins after having prepped everything and reviewed the installation instructions prior to start. Quality construction. Looks great and seals very well. 10/10 would recommend.

I loved this door at first however after it would rain I noticed water coming inside. Then we had snow and ice and I know have that inside my door. Thr snap out feature just allowed too much air in, I had it professionally installed so maybe they installed wrong? I didn't have this issue with my last door that didn't have that feature.

We've considered adding a storm door for awhile now and a recent HD coupon in the mail was enough to make us move. I'm probably a mid-level DIY'er and this was super easy to install. Just need a drill and a few hand tools. It looks great, while adding some energy efficiency and additional light into our living room. 10/10 would buy again.

Assembly was easy. Door itself is made well however, I wish it opened a little bit wider and the lock mechanism feels cheap almost like it’s going to break? I’m glad I got it on sale!

Took my time installing over 2 hrs period. Watched a few different YouTube video. The hardest part was installing the interior side of the glass upper and lower retainer strips. These could been installed at the factory to save the customer time and frustration as the instructions were pretty vague. But all in all they were a snap after a an hour of fiddling with them. Really good door for the price point,

I installed it myself. It took maybe 2 hrs or so. I had go keep reading the manual. If I had to do it again, it certainly can be done in 45mins. I love how it looks, the smooth operation, the quality seems good and its sturdy. It came with a door handle so thats a plus. I hope it lasts a very long time. I bought it when it was on sale but it took almost a month for the delivery to HD. It must be made to order.

Love my storm door it’s beautiful

I bought 2 of these doors. Only one has been put up. It is beautiful. Compliments my home nicely. My neighbors asked where I bought them because now they want them!

The door is very easy to install. It closes very securely, and it looks amazing. There is a major dislike that I have with this door. The trim pieces that are supposed to lock the screen and storm door in place are very questionable. I had a very hard time getting them to actually engage and lock the screen door in place. One side actually locks but the other three sides are constantly falling out. I tried to find a video on you tube and the home depot site but nothing really addressed what I am doing wrong. If the screen door is loose that is not a big deal but of the storm door is loose and falls there will be broken glass everywhere. The instruction manual had little to say about it. I think is a bad engineering design. I do like the dual closers. It makes for a tight seal.

MD. Had windstorm 1st yr. Door didnt close all the way when someone left. Wind pushed door open & slammed back causing glass to shift. Reset but plastic interior frame 4 glass insert was damaged. Glass shifted again & broke. Bought replacement glass & plastic frame, broke again during storm. Used screen instead of paying 4 glass again. Plastic isnt strong enough 2 hold glass during storm if door moves bc it didn't shut all the way. Ext frame covered by warranty not flimsy frame 4 glass. Dumb

I bought 2 of these for my home. The plastic trim that holds the window (or screen) in the door is VERY hard to install (and remove) - the edges that enable the plastic trim to clip into the window mean it has to be aligned perfectly - this requires strong hands and lots of patience. See the picture of the plastic trim (attached) showing the window trim. If your requirements include swapping the screen for the window BUY SOMETHING ELSE.

The plastic frames that hold the glass together have warped and came off the door after the door was installed three weeks ago. I am not able to reattach them. I would not recommend buying this door.

The door took us 8hrs and 15mins to install and was listed on the display as a 45min install.

The plastic strips that hold the glass or the screen is not easy to install and is very cheaply made. In addition, the foot- door stop engages without being pushed. Having said all of this, the overall look turned out okay; hopefully it will withstand a storm

Detailed description and photos make this door a snap to install. Plan on around an hour or two to install the door tho. Looks great and seals perfectly. I highly recommend this door. Remember the door handle is extra!

After doing some research on black storm doors, I stumbled across this one. I made an in-store purchase and installed it by myself the next day. I also purchased the matte black hardware for the door as well. This was a great purchase. I love the look of the door and installation was easy. I was able to install it myself without any issues. Highly recommended!
