Pressure is applied to the end with the blades while the other hand guides the scraper. It has a comfortable curved handle made of hard plastic that is easy on the hands. I would recommend using gloves though to prevent blisters. The blades can be switched to rough or fine scraping. There is a flathead screw that loosens to switch or replace the blade for the type of job that you are doing. The blades can also be sharpened by using a file. The instructions explain how to sharpen the blades. This is handy for paint scraping which is usually a tedious job. The right tool can make all of the difference.

This is a great little (1.5 inch) scraper. It has a very ergonomic curved handle that is easy to grip and use. The bend gives room for your knuckle so you do not scrap them when using the tool. The head has four sharp edges that can be changed by unscrewing and rotating the head to the next positions. The head edges can be re-sharpened with a file when it becomes dull. I used this scraper to knock off some worn places on the skirting boards of my deck before repainting. The tool was easy to used and did a great job of getting the boards ready to paint. I really like the size of this scraper.

Great Anvil one and one half inch scraper! It has four edge blades, two blades for rough scraping and 2 blades for fine scraping, plus it came with extra blades. Has a rubber coated handle for comfort fit and non slip when working with it. I like the easiness of changing the blades it does a great job of removing the paint. It even removes paint that isn't ready to come off.

To paint, you really have to consider the preparation that is involved first... this 1/2" paint scraper is of a professional class. It is well made and fits comfortably in your hand, making the job easier. I have painted for many years and I found this scraper to be one of the very best! The blade has 4 edges, - 2 for course and 2 for fine work. If one of the edges dull, you can remove it and turn it to the other. If the whole blade has to be changed, then it is just as easy, just with a screwdriver. The quality of the metal the blade is made of allows you to also sharpen it with a file. I used this to scrape the facial board on my workshop which was in very bad shape due to the South sun hitting that side, and I was very pleased with the results of removing the old chipped paint this scraper gave me. Highly recommend it for the DIY homeowners and the professionals...

When I received this scraper, I also got a spare blade which was good. The blades are very sharp and they come with 4 edges. You have two edges available to you for fine scraping, and if you rotate and flip the blade over you get another two edges. Another nice feature of the design is that the extra two sharp edges are out of your way until you need them, so you can’t cut your hand on them. It also shows you how to sharpen the blades which is good. The scraper seems to be solidly made and it has a good handle rounded handle to hold on to. It is also very reasonably priced.

This edge scraper was very easy to work with. Assembly is easy as just use the screw that comes with it to fasten the blades. The handle is a very easy soft grip that prevents your hand from slipping off when you are applying pressure to scrap paint from wall. The blades are very sharp and work easily. It is a two side blade for tough scraping and also for fine scraping.

I selected the Anvil edge scraper to use to scrape paint/polyurethane finish from surfaces that can't be sanded such as glass, stone and laminate surfaces. At 10 inch total length, the Anvil scraper is comfortable to use. It comes with the scraper blade that has two different edges; one edge for fine scraping and the other for rough scraping - a total of 4 scraping edges on one blade, it's just a simple process of flipping the blade to change the scraping edge. I didn't personally find any visible differences of the two type of blade edges; both were effective scraping dried oil based paint on a vinyl surface. The scraper blade didn't gouge the vinyl unless I really forced the scraper - putting too much pressure. I find the Anvil will work perfectly for my refinish job on my wood entrance doors that have glass windows.

This inexpensive ANViL 1.5 in. 4 Edge Scraper is worth its weight in gold to me. I grew up in a family of painters. I cannot begin to tell you how many thousands of hours I have spent scraping paint! From splinters from wooden handles, to hand cramps, to spending hours re-sharpening blades; been there. done that! The handle of this scraper is very ergonomic, the handle is long, the blades are quick to change and inexpensive to buy. What more could an over-worked painter ask for? Thanks Anvil, and Home Depot!

A good all round paint scraper. Well built, comfortable grip and just the right size to work in tighter/confined spaces. I maintain a selection of scrapers, putty knives and trowels for DIY projects around the house. This scraper has a four sided blade which can be rotated to either coarse or fine blades. Each edge can be sharpened with a file. A word of caution, the blades are sharp so I wouldn't leave this lying around so someone can step on it or someone, who doesn't know how to use it, can get to it. Overall, a nice addition to your collection of paint/scrape tools.

Two things I like about this edge scraper right off the bat are the length and grip of the handle plus the four edges of blade. I used a dime to take off the screw to easily change the blade for fine scrapping. You can easily sharpen them with a file when they start getting dull. I used a fine edge to remove old stuck food stains on my quartz countertop and was astounded at how easy it was to use and make the surface smooth again.

It works just as well as I need it to.

A great tool for both paint scrapping and for clearing glue from panel glue-ups. Fits perfectly in hand, I appreciate the longer handle which provides great leverage and allows for tilting at varied angles...and it's sharp!ore than met my expectations.
