Expensive for what it is
It’s expensive for what it is but when you are spending decent money on the railings and posts it does not make sense to go cheap on the jig. Overall it worked well for my job.

Poor quality template
Aria could have done a much better job of designing a multi-purpose template than this. It's made of thin, flimsy plastic. The railing clip is sloppy in the jig and just spins when you run the first screw in. It needs to be tighter tolerances, thicker material and center the hole so it's not directional. Most people installing the railings can make a better jig themselves. I feel like I paid for the paint and the jig was pretty useless.

I have waited until I actually used the product. The jig is of absolutely no use for stair railing. It was much better to make my own jig which aligns the actual drill holes and not the bracket. Don't get me started on the brackets.
The touch up paint works fine except there is very little of it and because of the solvent base will mostly dry up in the bottle before it is used up.

Helps get the job done much quicker and easier than without it but way overpriced for a piece of plastic that should just be included with every post.

The Aria Rail system is too complex for most general contractors. Squares and rectangles are easy enough, but any angle is very difficult. The system only allows 90 and 45 degree angles. Any other angle on the rail leaves sharp edges exposed. I do not think Aria Rail system is a good product for Home Depot to sell or sponsor.

The template is a must for ensuring the rails align correctly, doesn’t make sense why it isn’t included with the kit. The touch up paint is also important to touch up any shiny aluminum surfaces from cutting.

Must have product
Youll want this quick drying paint if you are cutting rails down. Also, the jig made installing lower brackets very efficient. Glad I purchased this product!

It doesn't hold in place very well should have been $ 5.00 also needs to be thicker to incapsulate bracket better and aline properly would I buy agin absolutely not in its current form.

We are sorry you had a bad experience. The jig is meant to sit on the metal base plate with the arrow facing down. When its on the base plate and up against the post you place the u-bracket in the hole and screw the bracket to the post. It is only to be used for the bottom brackets as once you have those in place then you can set the panel on the brackets and slide the top u-brackets into what we call the H-channel of the railing to screw into post. It would have been twice as hard to locate the lower clip without the Rail Clip Jig. Once the the lower rail clip is properly positioned, it is nearly impossible to go wrong with the railing installation. The whole system is very well thought out and looks like a professional installation.

Meh... the template should have been included with the posts anyway and although the paint IS handy and worked well... it was WAY overpriced. 3 stars for value... product is fine, just overpriced.
