Alien tape cannot hold any weight, it cannot even hold a puck light I have in my closet, the tape stretched and my light dangles 3 " from the ceiling for sometime before it finally fell loose.

My wife purchased this to keep some of our rugs in place on our hardwood floors. When we removed the rugs, the Alien Tape tore the bottom of the rugs off. And then when removing the Alien Tape from our hardwood floors, which was nearly impossible, it pulled the varnish off of the flooring! So now we have some spots on our hardwood floors that will need repaired. I have no idea how much this will cost, because you probably cannot just "Patch" the varnish that was pulled up. DO NOT USE!

*To those complaining or even LOOKING to stick these on textured & painted walls, DON’T IT as most have no primer, done poorly & age — to be completely honest. It will rip off paint. You’re better off hammering nails, just being transparent. I bought floating shelves for my apartment back splash (glass that was cleaned well with cleaner after following directions throughly) for spices I use most frequently. I used these as an x-ray tech for my markers. Reusable & awesome when used correctly!

I used the Alien Tape to affix a heavy, brass sign to a tile wall and it works beautifully — no nails! This stuff really works!

Alien tape does not hold items heavier than a feather but it does strip your paint off the wall when removed. Should be sold as a paint stripper.

-40c in southern Alberta and still going strong! We installed our outdoor Christmas lights along our fence at the end of November using this product, and they are still holding strong.! We "taped the lights to the fence and have had no issues! The Temps for the past week have been -40c and still holding strong as seen in the pics. We are pleasantly surprised! Always recommending to family and friends! Thanks Alien tape for an amazing product!

I think it took off 4 layers of paint and drywall. Terrible product. DO NOT BUY!

I hung a white board on my office wall and it it completely tore the Sheetrock!

I was skeptical, but happily surprised after using it. I bought the tape to keep things from sliding on table surfaces on the boat, and it works great for securing items from moving side-to-side. I have also used it to fasten the Apple TV box to the side of a wooden cabinet, and the box has stayed in place with no signs of slipping. The tape really does pull off or a smooth surface without leaving residue behind. For securing light items, this stuff works really good. I plan to purchase more once I use up the roll I’m using now.

I was able to tape and decorations pretty easily... just remember to do what the instructions say it's one of the most functional remover tapes I've used in the last few years clear covering is and delicate also great strength using it to affix names of my children to the walls of their room and wonders they stay fixed recommended

Are you kidding me? This stuff will take the paint right off your walls...not to mention the first layer surface. BE WARNED. Don't use this to hang pictures to a wall. These were up less than 24 hours - needed to be adjusted, and took the paint right off on removal. Really annoyed by this misrepresentation!!!

I have bought Alien Tape to put up pictures on the walls. As I read the instructions and watched the commercials on TV, they said nothing about not attaching the tape to the walls! Taking a few pictures down completely ruined the walls!! I now need to have them fixed by hiring a handyman at the cost of $200.00! I have already used the tape on the pictures around my house-it is going to cost me a small fortune to fix those. Is there anything I can do to take the Alien Tape safely?

I had been using velcro strips but they didn't last long in the full afternoon sun. Alien tape to the rescue! Easy to use, attached well, and stuck to the door frame with no problem.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] While the as seen on TV alien tape sticks well to most surfaces, the commercial advertisement has faults. 1: the commercial shows a security camera being placed on a brick wall. The instructions clearly indicate to use the tape only on smooth, non porous surfaces. 2: in both the commercial and the instructions included with the tape, UT indicates you can just twist the object you've stuck to, say, a wall and it will come off easily and completely. This is far from the truth. I placed a light weight 11" x 14" canvas panel art piece on the side of a metal file cabinet. I can't move it AT ALL. I will probably have to pry it off and hope I don't damage anything. I will only be using this tape on objects I don't want to remove.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This product has the PERFECT name. When I took this out to repair a table, I said to myself….I’ve never seen tape like this before. It’s like a thicker double-sided tape mixed with goop that’s as strong as super glue. Super sticky so be careful. Used it to adhere this marble table top to the wooden base at my in-laws.

I used it to hold a rug in place, and to hang a sign outside. I love that I can use it indoors and outdoors. The package comes with three 10 foot rolls that I can cut to any size.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] When I first received this Alien tape and read the instructions I was a bit disappointed because the instructions state that this tape should not be used on painted walls. The primary reason I wanted this product was to hang picture frames on my walls. I did however use the tape to hang a small shelf on the tile backsplash above my kitchen sink about a week ago. The tape is very sticky, but fairly easy to cut and work with. I followed the enclosed instructions precisely. I use the shelf to hold dish and hand soaps, so there's not a lot of weight on the shelf and so far it is still holding well.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This tape has quite a bit of stick to it! You need to carefully open the box to get it out. Use the resealable bag it comes with and also use the plastic liners on each side of the tape. I mistakenly took it off and put it right down on the table top and it got stuck! I had to pry it off -- it had a little resistance for sure! There are so many uses for tape like this. It is a little thicker than normal packing tape for sure. So you have to take that into consideration. But for me, our first use is on some throw rugs that move around a lot. So far so good. Only had it a week, but everything stays in place! I am really looking forward to the holidays so I can put little decorations that wont blow away -- like potted fake poinsettias.

This tape is perfect for basically everything! I used it to secure artificial plants on my planter boxes. As well as using it to secure window shades. No more nails or screws - thank you!

It's good for very light items, but assume ever you stick it to, it will damage to some degree. I used it to hold up a lightweight board, and despite spraying with water to loosen it up, it still took a chunk of my drywall with it. I've used it to hold up our kitty's scratch board, and it's working great. Read the instructions carefully before you use!

It holds however it will take the paint and plaster off your wall.

Advertising says it easily comes off when you twist and not pull. Well it took off the plaster off my drywall crappy product. I also used it to hang a picture frame maybe 2 lbs max it keeps on falling off. Go figure never buy this.

I got this tape thinking I could use it to tape some small wood shelves to my workshop wall. The first shelf I tired was made from plywood and must have been around 5 pounds at the most. I put a big strip of tape across the back and pushed it to the wall. It lasted around 4 or 5 minutes and the entire thing fell to the floor. I then washed the tape off, let it dry and put it on a single board of Maple and stuck it on the wall. It fell in around 15 seconds. I cleaned the tape up again and tried to stick the Maple board to another board. No luck. The tape had no stickiness left by this time and the Maple board immediately fell to the ground. I had to throw the tape away and try a new piece. Same result. The stickiness leaves the tape quickly and it does not come back. I cannot see how anything can be held on a wall with this tape. I realize that this is going against the consensus and the advertising promo, but for me this stuff just did not work. And I really tried. I gave it far more time than I normally would as I realize a negative review can impact sales. But for me this is a no go.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got this Alien Tape to try out in different projects I have going around my house. I like that the package contains 3 rolls of tape, plenty for my projects. On my first project I used the Alien Tape to hold painted canvas panels on straight to my kids' bedroom wall. They were constantly bumping into them and making them crooked. The Alien Tape works great on them and now they don't budge. I had previously used a different brand tape that did not hold very well. I am so pleased that Alien Tape holds so well. It's about an inch wide and decently thick, but not too thick.

I would not suggest applying it to drywall or any surface that you are concerned about possibly taking the paint off. I decided to apply small Velcro squares as a buffer between the tape and the wall. My wall calendar is a bit heavy but it has held without issue for about a month now. I'm excited to use the tape for mounting other things.

I disagree with advertising; evidently doesn’t stick to any surface I used on a painted wall. Shouldn’t it work?

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The instructions are clear that Alien Tape should only be used on sheetrock, wallboard, and painted surfaces if you intend the application to be permanent as it will peel off the top of the surface and/or leave a residue. On painted walls, it says you can spray water on the tape edges and peel gently to avoid damage. So be aware of where you intend to use the Alien Tape. My husband thinks dishtowels belong wherever he puts them down, and I wanted a handy hook on the side of the kitchen sink cabinet in hopes he would use it, but I didn’t want to drill holes in the cabinet. Cutting the Alien Tape into small strips to fit the center solid section and to put on each side of the hook, I then peeled off the tape backing and pressed the hook to the cabinet surface for 30 seconds. It adhered perfectly. Another problem has been a storage spot for my garden gloves just inside the greenhouse door. I took a rectangular black plastic throwaway container, put a strip of Alien Tape along one long side, and pressed it onto a horizontal wood beam next to the door for 30 seconds. Presto – a handy spot for quickly grabbing the gloves on the way out to the garden and tossing them into on my return. I saw a fun design to attach painted hubcaps and old cutup garden hose for a “flower” arrangement on the outside of a storage shed, and that’s my next project for Alien Tape. Think “outside the box” and you too will find many uses for it.
