Ruined my patio
The moment it gets wet it will discolor (get darker) by the seems between pavers - permanently. See pictures below. This was after 2 weeks curing (in the sun). Un believably bad. I have no options except to live with it or rip out the pavers. The dark seems get worse every time they get wet.

Hi JimG, thank you for your review. I'm sorry to hear that the Low-Lustre Sealer gets darker when wet. That is not normal and certainly not the experience we want for our customers. To fix this, I recommend removing the coating using a power washer or paint stripper designed for colored concrete. Once removed, the coating can be reapplied at the recommended spread rate. Customer satisfaction is important to us, and we appreciate your feedback. Please reach out to us directly if you need further assistance. Our customer care team is happy to help you! - Randy Behr

I was very satisfied with the low-lustre finish of this product. The recommended roller and/or spray techniques both didn’t cut in my paver sealing situation. A good old fashion 4” brush ( was the idea application technique even though it was time consuming. Even though the polymeric sand between the pavers gobbled up the sealer and I ended up using gallons more than expected. The final finish was substantial with just one generously applied pass with the brush. Overall I was happy.

Very expensive for the product. Was not happy with the results. Turned my cement patio white. Thank you Home Depot for letting me return this.

      Really good sealer
This is a great sealer. I put on 3 coats and got to a low luster as advertised. Easy to apply with a foam roller. I used about half the jug for a 10x13 kitchen. Goes on real easy. This was a rough porcelain tile that needed to be a bit smoother, and it collected too much dirt. Some of the other reviews speak for themselves. I would not apply this to porous ceramic or concretes. It's more of a tile sealer than a concrete sealer.

Not a Very Good Product. Dries Splotchy White.
This Behr Low Luster Sealer will ruin your project and Behr did not respond to my inquiry's or complaints. No matter how carefully you follow the instructions it will form white spots and a week later more white spots will form in different areas. It is the worst product I have ever used. If you must seal your project, I would try another brand. I painted my house with Behr paint, was very satisfied, so I trusted the Behr Brand and paid $$$$ to get the Behr product. My mistake!

Will Ruin your Patio. Total Garbage!
I did not even think of reading reviews for a simple sealer. WISH I HAD! Ruined my new patio. Forms some kind of powdery substance when it dries.I am now in the company of the hundreds of other people who have had their patios ruined by this product. I sent an inquiry to Behr customer service and received no response. They are now sending me unwanted Ad emails. Home Depot and Behr should be ashamed of themselves for selling this product.

I applied it to a clean sanded concrete floor in our basement and it darkened all the lines and streaks in the concrete making what was previously a clean concrete floor of consistent color look dirty

This product being used as instructions makes the concrete a sheet of comparable to winter time black ice. It had to be removed by a commercial pressure washer and 12 hours hard work. DONT PLACE THIS PRODUCT ON YOUR CONCRETE UNLESS YOU ARE READY TO FALL WHEN IT RAINS. BEHR ISNT A COMPANY ID DEAL WITH.

exactly what i was looking for!
We hired a contractor to paint our basement floors and they used the wrong paint :( you get what you pay for. It was definitely easily scratched and horrifying to think about. Instead of sanding it down or removing it, I just decided to seal it and touch up areas before doing so. I did some research and this seemed like the best, affordable option. I looked at the reviews and saw that people used it on painted areas. I used the recommended paint roller brush and paint brush and applied it very easily. It definitely looks like milk and has a milk like consistency when putting it on but it does dry clear. You do need to be careful if it pools in any areas or is too excessive, it will turn yellow and stay yellow, even after it dries. I’m putting a rug down so I don’t mind as much. It was in areas where a drain used to be or I just had too much on the brush at the time. I have now put some furniture in the basement and have done a scratch test in multiple areas and it has definitely passed! if you’re looking to do something similar, definitely use this product. It’s worth every penny. I only did one coat on my entire basement and with the excess I did a second coat in the high traffic areas and I know it will hold up!

Easy to apply, really brought out the natural color without being glossy. I’m not sure on it’s water shedding performance or longevity as I just applied it.

              Doesn’t last
I sealed my pavers about a month ago and the seal is already loosening from the sand and bricks. I will not use this again especially for the price it should last at least 1 year. I wish I could get my money back.

                yellow when dried
I painted my porch a pattern. On the white parts it has dried yellow and tinged everything yellow. Would not recommend. This porch was scrubbed and bright white freshly painted in the white areas. When it dried it leaves a yellow cast making it look dirty. I followed the directions. Not clear as advertised.

Hi megan, thanks for your review. I'm sorry to hear about the yellow cast on your porch. This certainly isn't normal, as our Low Lustre Sealer should have a clear finish. To fix it, I recommend removing the sealer with a conventional paint stripper, touching up the white paint (if needed) and reapplying the sealer following the dprea rate on the label. isn`t ok
applied according to instructions and overlapping sealer applied with roller left these marks, now what causes this and how to make it look like an even spread. Don`t tell me to start over - what causes these marks upon overlapping the sealer.

Hi Danny, thank you for your review. Sorry to hear that there are roller marks when applying the sealer. Roller marks can sometimes happen when overworking the product. I'd recommend waiting 72 hours and seeing if the brush marks subside. If not, I'd recommend removing the coating with a concrete paint stripper and then reapplying it. Seal bubbled and scratched
After over 6 months of use on my concrete counter tops this stuff has already been scratched and bubbles anyway water sits ruining the finish. I had applied the max amount of coats as recommended on the bottle and waited the recommended amount of time between coats to add another coat. I also waited the recommended time before using the surface. Very disappointed as now I have to strip my counter and sand them to restart which is a huge job.

Hi Michael, thank you for your review. Sorry to hear that the Low-Luster Sealer is bubbling and has already been scratched. To fix the issue you would need to remove the coating by stripping or sanding, You also want to etch the surface as this will give it the profile of 150-grit sandpaper, also you want to sprinkle water onto the surface to ensure that it is porous before applying the sealer, I also wanted to point out that the Low-Lustre Sealer isn't recommended for countertops that come into direct contact with food. Customer satisfaction is important to us, and we appreciate your feedback. Please reach out to us directly if you need further assistance; our customer care team is happy to help you! -Ronald Behr
This stuff is awesome! Very forgiving
I was up in the air about using the Valspar or the Behr, after reading a ton of reviews, I went with Behr. It did not disappoint. it is so forgiving, it shouldn't leave roller marks if you follow all directions for the stain or concrete prep and application. 1. make sure to use a pump sprayer for spreading it out. 2. use a roller to finish spreading out for an even coat. 3. if the roller leaves bad marks when spreading, you'll have bad marks in the finish. keep spreading until the marks are gone.

                            aggregate patio
I used this product on my aggregate patio and I am not very happy with the results. I first applied a concrete cleaner and then used a power washer to the patio. I followed the instructions on the container and let the surface dry for (24) hours. Certain sections have a milky looking cloud area and others are fine. This patio is about (9) years old and now looks terrible. I would not recommend this product and plan to get my money back

Hi Larry, thank you for your review. Sorry to hear that some of the areas of your aggregate patio have a milky cloud after applying our Low-Lustre Sealer. This can happen sometimes when moisture is trapped underneath the coating. If only 1 coat was applied, I'd recommend applying a second coat in a small area. This may reactivate the coating and allow the moisture to escape. If that isn't successful the coating would need to be removed and reapplied. GREAT FOR BRICK DUST!!!
I just needed this for 1 purpose, nothing else, and I was on a mission to find what would work for my problem. The exposed brick in my clothes closet was awful and terribly leaving white dusk on my clothes. I researched HD since there was one near me. I also purchased a Scott's sprayer. I swept down my brick wall to get rid of the loose pebbles and dusk. Then I got busy. This stuff is AWESOME!!! LEFT A SHINE AND LOOKS LIKE A NEW WALL! 1 HEAVY COATING WAS ENOUGH! PROBLEM SOLVED!!!

Stained patio - let dry for a week, then applied low lustre sealer. That was 3 weeks ago - Seemed ok up until I tried to rinse the patio off with plain water this afternoon . Now I have sealer that is being removed with water - it looks like dried milk on top of the stain!! How do I fix this??? Can it be fixed?

Hi Tanya, thank you for your review, Sorry to hear that after 3 weeks when rinsing off your patio the Wet-Look Sealer turned milky and started coming off. This is not typical, and I can understand your disappointment. The milky look happens when moisture is trapped under the coating. If only 1 coat of the sealer was applied, you can try applying a coat to a small area and see if it reactivated the sealer allowing the moisture to leave the coating. If that works proceed with the rest of your patio. If it doesn't work, the coating would need to be removed with a concrete paint stripper and then reapplied. This is a terrible product
I bought this product after recommendation to seal indoor concrete paint job. I used Behr masonry primer which is excellent followed by two coats of Behr Masonry paint. Another good product. The Behr sealant however is how others have described their issue: cloudy finish leaving paint roller streaks. It DOES NOT DRY CLEAR! Very disappointing after all my hard work on this project.

Hi Teresa, thank you for your review. Sorry to hear that the Low-Lustre Sealer dried cloudy and not clear. I can understand your disappointment with all the hard work that you put into the project. If only 1 coat has been applied, let it dry 24 hours then try applying a second coat to a 2' x2' area and see if it dries clear. The second coat may reactivate the first coat letting out any moisture that is causing it to look cloudy. The next solution would be to remove the coating with a paint stripper and reapplying. Hi Robby - Thank you for reviewing our sealer. I'm sorry to hear that this product looks streaky white. If you've applied one coat so far and the finish still looks streaky after 24 hours, I recommend applying a second coat in a small test area and allowing it to dry for 4-6 hours. If your test spot dries clear, a thin second coat can be applied to the rest of the surface. If the finish looks hazy after applying 2 coats, it's best to remove the sealer completely. Please feel free to reach out to us directly so we can assist you with this further. We hope to hear from you. - Sara Behr

                                            Works Great. Follow Instructions
I have used this product for 20 years. Apply following the directions and will have no issues. First time I used,, yes, flooded flag-stone and got some white streaks overlap using roller. Other houses/projects,, no issues. Apply Thin !! It will 'foam' with roller,, light roll it out. I will dry clear. Do in the morning cool, not in hot sun. I see one star reviews applying to concrete. You will get discoloration on concrete floors,, I do my garage floors with this,, great, but will get discoloration 'sucked up' in spots due to how the floor is prepped/ floated out,, etched etc. If you want perfect color in raw concrete, paint it, or use Thompsons clear. See my Pic,, large took me 2 hours with roller,, I work fast, but I have used this for many years. Go to a Home-depot and see why none in stock,, as people love the product. You can mix 50/50 with low luster and gloss works very well.

Scary reviews, but success for us
My husband and I are on the last room of a whole-house renovation — his music room/art studio. The concrete floors had lots of paint splotches (oil, acrylic?) from the previous owner who was an artist/art teacher. We were planning on using an oil-based porch paint on it, but after sanding, he decided he liked it as it was. As the painter, I suggested using a sealer of some kind for protection and a little shine. Ignoring the negative reviews, we bought this product. I am not a professional. I wiped the floor with a damp rag, let dry and then painted a very thin coat with a brush (120 sq. ft.) The next morning, we were delighted by what we saw. It had a slight shine, but I could see some of my brush strokes. I gave it a second thin coat with a small roller and then finished with a light brush. This morning it looks beautiful! We love that the imperfect concrete design beneath shows through. We’ll be putting an old-fashioned braided rug over the majority of it. HAPPY!
