Cool Look but messy
If you have 200 square feet of rough aggregate concrete porch slab then Do not rush the Etching process, and ONLY use a 1/4” Adhesive specialty roller, if you edit these specs even an Inch you will end up needing 8 cans for an incredible finish instead of what would have been an affordable 5 Gallon Jug.

    Horrible waste of money
Product was thick snd chunky almost as if the cans had been subjected to adverse temperatures or was an old product held in Ill storage . It was difficult to apply and did not apply evenly . Left huge streaks and thin areas. It did not cover the concrete as described . Looked as if epoxy separated from pigment and texture additives. This was roughly a 10 x 12 area that used up 2 gallons!!!!! Followed application directions to the letter !! Definitely going to get my money back back!! Do not buy

      Color doesn’t match very blue
Bought gray and it looked blue so I put it on a stick thinking it would dry darker.. not really.

        Horrible
I wish I had read reviews prior to purchasing this. Comes out like glue. Doesn’t spread at all doesn’t even stick to the roller. I don’t understand how you’re supposed to cover anything with this product???? I had great expectations, what a disappointment. Wasted my day off struggling with this, now I’m going back to get regular paint to cover this up. Major fail!! Plus very expensive!!!

Hi Laura, thank you for your review. I'm sorry to hear that the Granite Grip Coating was thick like glue and was hard to spread. This is not typical, and I can understand your disappointment. When applying the coating, it's recommended to use a 1/4" adhesive roller. The product should rolled out with little to no pressure to help get a more uniform look. Awesome paint
I have an older home with not so nice concrete. Over the years, I’ve used Behr porch & patio paint with great results. The past 6 months I’ve been looking at the granite grip and finally decided to purchase it. I was a little apprehensive given some of the reviews but if you prep the area and take your time, you should be fine. It is thick to apply and does require 2 coats so don’t try to do 1. It’s rather costly but we’ll worth it and it looks amazing. You will not regret it!

              Product Does Not Meet Expectations
A professional painter applied this product to a concrete shop floor (14x24). One half was new concrete. The floor was acid washed, then the product was applied using all Behr recommendations. Streaking was seen after two coats, a third coat was applied, which showed some streaking/thin coat areas. Finally, a touch-up was applied to problem color areas. The painter noted he would recommend a solid medium/dark concrete primer be applied before using this product. This was a Behr paint failure.

                  Not recommended
Totally looks different than picture. Had to use 2 cans for front porch for coverage. Im not sure if it was not mixed properly at store but one side looks darker than other side and I purchased 2 cans of same color Sunset Ridge. There is nothing i can do but just paint the whole porch with just a porch paint. So I am out $130. Very disappointed!

It was so bad Behr actually sent me 3 free gallons to try to fix it. It did not. I actually wound up buying regular cement paint and covered the whole thing with 1 gallon. Don’t waste your money.

This product is terrible and I’m so disappointed. Very little coverage. Spent over $300.00. Only used on gallon and you could barely tell in the small area we used it. We buy Behr products only for our home and this is the first time I’ve been dissatisfied. We purchased all the tools needed as well. What a waste of time and money.

I love Behr paint! This paint however is such a disappointment. I had to buy 4 gallons because it doesn’t cover like it should. It also dries super thin. Please take off the market.

Does not cover like it should.
Used 7 gallons on a two car garage (roughly 300 square feet) and still not done! At this point we could have had someone come in and do it for less and get better coverage. Very patchy even with multiple applications. Took way longer than it should have to paint. Not happy at all.

                            Maybe it works .......somewhere.
Tried this Summer of 2022 in Wisconsin. Followed the directions to the letter. Prepared the surfaces exactly if not better then recommended. Used the exact recommended tools to apply. Tried it on about 120 total Sq feet. Ended up using 4 coats to get coverage !!! Over 6 gallons, or 3 times what is listed. It didn't last a winter. :( It's a lot of work to put down, and a lot of work to prepare the surface. And it's very expensive. It does not cover anything close to what is listed.

I recommend removing the loose coating by either power washing or sanding, then etching the bare concrete. After the floor is etched and clean, re-apply the Granite Grip Floor coating. Do NOT buy this high priced Crap!! We did Everything to prep the floor as said on the can. Rented a grinder to get any paint up had to order the special roller blaa black blaa. 9 cans later we had a ugly expensive floor. Its been 4 months and I'm having a epoxy floor put in. As seen in the pic this floor is peeling up. It Never sealed to the floor and came up in huge chunks!!! We should all get together and have a class action lawsuit for misrepresentation of this high priced Trash!

Great look and grip but doesn't go very far
Etched the concrete on our patio, got the quarter inch adhesive roller and started. Shame on me for not reading the can myself, my paint associate at HD said would cover my 12'×18' patio. 3 more gallons later(covers 40-60 ft per coat needs 2 coats), it looks phenomenal. Recommend the product for sure if it fits your budget. Had I been properly advised, I would have bought a 5 gallon bucket and saved some money

Just completed project ~250 sq ft covered patio. Took 3 coats for concealment of previous stained concrete (different color), so 6 gallons overall. When pulling painters tape off, it is obvious that adhesion is not great as some small area’s came off which will require a touch up and now no more paint. Need small amount for touch up, not sure it is sold that way.

                                Poor product don't use!
This product does not blend with itself No matter how many coats. you can tell right where you spread it in 3x3 recommended areas. Followed the directions to the letter. I poured directly on the floor and spread. Same on the second and the black sand got trapped in the previous coat causing major blotches. Called the manufacturer they sent me 4 more gallons for free and the told me to roll the 3rd coat from a pan. Did that and still have the same irregularities. Needs to be discontinued.

Hello, thank you for your review. I'm so sorry to hear that your Granite Grip is not blending and looks blotchy, especially after contacting us. That is not the experience we want for our customers. While the first coat will act as a base coat, additional coats should provide uniformity when rolled using an adhesive roller with little to no pressure. Customer satisfaction is important to us. Great finish, but needs more like 4 coats.
Supplies and driveway paint (2 one-gallons, 2 5-gallons, 1 one-gallon), will run you closer to $700 for a smaller drive (approx 500 sq ft). The first one-gallons were a "test" or base layer in grey. Didn't look good, so switched to tan. Had I not done that, wouldn't have known that the darker base is much thinner than the lighter one. Stick with light colors! Thick granite grip look hides imperfections very well. Had 2 large cracks, prepped it by grinding it down with masonry angle grinder disc.

Do not buy or use this or any behr product. Spent three days sanding, scraping, power washing the concrete. Applied concrete primer, put three layers of granite grip, spent over $800 just for the paint. Looked good and solid for almost three weeks and then it rained…. The whole area which is around $350 square feet bubbled up as if someone went with the torch. P.S. its in California, Los Angeles area where there is no freezing temperatures….

This is not typical and I can understand your disappointment. I'd recommend removing the loose coating that bubbled by scraping and then sanding the edges smooth with 80-120 grit sandpaper, then etch any bare concrete areas and letting the area dry thoroughly. After the surface is clean and dry, touch up the areas that bubbled. A coat may be needed on the entire area for uniformity. Customer satisfaction is important to us, and we appreciate your feedback. This past fall we decided to use the Granite Grip for our front porch. What a mistake that was. First, we cleaned the area, then we etched the concrete. Let dry for a day, then started with the brush around the parameter. We used the 1/4” adhesive roller per the instructions and rolled the porch. We let dry 24 hours and we rolled the porch again for a 2nd coat. First rain came about 2 months after we had used the granite grip product and we noticed how the paint started bubbling up.

I was intrigued by this product to try it on the concrete mantel and hearth of my fireplace. I realize this is not the typical use for this product as it is primarily meant for concrete floors. That being said, I was pleasantly surprised at how well it turned out! Keep in mind that you definitely need to apply more than one coat before it has a nice even look. In my case, I had to apply 3 coats before I achieved the look I was hoping for. Overall, I am very pleased!

                                            Paint is Bubbling
I LOVED my stairs with this paint. It was beautiful! I just painted them in early fall. Now they are bubbling and peeling in certain areas. Can’t figure it out nor can my contractor who did it. We went straight by the directions. This paint is expensive and I don’t think it is anything we did wrong in my part. Totally bums me out.

Excellent product for refreshing old concrete porch
Used this product on an old concrete porch with approx. 550 square feet of area in poor condition. After removing old paint and patching holes we primed the area. Over the course of applying 3 to 4 coats we used 28 gallons of Granite Grip. Avoiding the sun in Phoenix isn't easy but using the product I understand the need to avoid the direct sun or super hot days. This project was done early in the morning which gave us time to properly spread the coating. We poured the product on the porch and spread using a 1/4 inch adhesive roller with excellent results. Manufacture says one gallon covers 50 sq.ft. our use rate was one gallon covering 20 sq.ft. for the results we desired.

Read All Online and Label Directions.
Product lasted a good 2 years before it started peeling up in large sheets. The product label does NOT stress proper prep directions. One MUST etch the concrete, neutralize the etcher, then apply a concrete bonding agent. If these steps are not taken, the product will fail eventually. It's just a given.

                                                EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTING!
Used on basement floor.Contractor followed all instructions to a T,even acid etched the surfaces twice. He had to use twice the recommended amount and it still did not come close to looking like the surface in brochure.Contractor consulted Behr&Home Depot, neither seemed to know about the product. Home Depot mixed the wrong color. After the second coat the covering was so spotty that the color was not as much of an issue. The Contractor asked if product could be used on wood stairs. Behr said not recommended. It adhered to the wood FAR better than to my cement floor. With 4 coats, 10 gallons of paint ($1000) I am still unable to like the finished floor. Nowhere in any ad is it stated that this product is for "New Concrete". Checking back on negative customer reviews I see that Behr has not responded to any complaints. I have little faith that this product will withstand the test of time.

Hi there, thanks for your review. I'm sorry to hear you didn't get the coverage you expected with our Granite Grip and that you didn't get the help you needed when your contractor consulted us. To fix the splotchy coating, I recommend letting the last coat dry for 72 hours. Then clean the surface with a concrete degreaser (if needed) before applying another coat with your adhesive roller using little to no pressure. We also don't recommend applying this product on wood surfaces as wood can be more flexible than concrete, and may cause the coating to fail prematurely. I see we are already in communication with you privately to further assist, and I thank you for working with us. -Christina Behr

                                                  follow directions to a "T"
I applied to my back patio porch. Prep was followed as written on the can. 1.no grinding was needed as it was 4-year-old concrete. I poured the material into the roller pan The roller pan once filled with the material started to separate once it was rolled in the pan. The first coat went on with most of the grit landing where it touched the concrete. I wondered if spraying granite grip would have come out different, it was only 280 sq ft patio. It didn't meet my expectations.

                                                    Great finished look.
A little expensive, but surprisingly changed the look of my concrete foundation. Looks like a professional costed it. Takes 2 coats, but looks great.
