We try our best to make sure we inform our customers about the necessity of sealing the Bamboo right after fencing installation. We try to bring awareness to this matter by stating on the product page under product description "Treatment: fencing is not treated, always apply a good quality; oil-based UV-resistant wood sealant using a brush for best application" as well as sending a "how to treat your bamboo fence" and a disclaimer pamphlet inside of every box we ship out. I apologize if you didn't receive your pamphlet, I will bring this issue to my packing team attention. If you have any suggestion to help us improve the communication about this matter, please feel free to email it to us, we are always looking to ways to refine our products and service.

Please keep in mind that Bamboo is a natural product and mold and mildew may grow when exposed to weather. A good oil-based sealant can help protect the Bamboo fence against UV rays, rain, mold, and mildew. We recommend TWP 300 series. Bamboo is a natural, sustainable product that over time and with seasonal changes like temperature, weather and wear, this once tan or cedar-colored fence can be weathered to a silvery gray and changes over its lifespan should be expected. It is very important to perform certain periodical tasks to maintain Bamboo appearance and quality. If you haven’t sealed it the original color of your bamboo will change faster to the silvery gray, but don't worry, it is easy to restore it. Please follow these easy steps to restore your bamboo fencing to close to its original color. Start by scrubbing the bamboo with cleaning solution consisting of dish soap and water or lightly power washing all mold and residue off of the bamboo. Use Total Wood Protectant (TWP) or similar in your bamboo color to enhance the color of it or a seal clear gloss to keep its current color and protect from sunlight, rain, moisture, and temperature changes. Make sure to lay down a protective tarp or a rug to catch any drippage. Make sure no rain is forecast for at least 24 hours. As all of our products are 100% natural We recommend using a sealant before installing to help keep the fencing looking natural and beautiful, any TWP sealant that is waterproof can help from preventing molding and prevent harmful UV rays that cause cracking of the bamboo due to extreme heat.
