I feel in love with this lock when I got it for Christmas. It seemed like a timesaver. Set up directions were vague, It took a couple tries to set it up correctly. The finger print works 7 out of 10 times on the first try. When working, my finger might be a bit dirty or wet. I liked the lock until it took a tumble from 4ft. the locking mechanism is shot! The lock slipped out of my hands onto the concrete when unlocking the upper garage cabinet. Seems like poor quality, but it was my fault. I'm going to seek an alternative.

i like the size, the desing and the style of the lock its very good and i recomend it 5 stars

This is a great idea and it is an overall great product. It does have some glitches ready some of my kids prints. It opens 80% of the time. However, I do like this product and will definitely be purchasing more.

It works which was a very nice surprise. I bought this as an experiment to see the tech and it works.

Amazing product, I use it to lock up my gun safe. Have not had any issues with the fingerprint scanner, works like a charm. Can open in about a second.

Great lock to secure items for quick access.

The lock works great. I use it 3-4 times a day over the last 3 months and haven't had many issues. the lock doesn't like wet fingers and the instructions with the lock could be clearer when programming the finger print. Other then that the construction is solid and not easily bypassed like other lock of this style. I would and have recommended this lock to several people

One of the worst products I have ever reviewed! I really wanted this lock to work, but I was sadly disappointed. It's nearly impossible to program. After reading the instructions, watching the How To video numerous times and talking to poorly educated customer support people on the phone for nearly two hours, this lock finally worked! OH, and customer support is on Pacific time! AND I waited a week for them to send me a replacement lock because the first one would not program AT ALL. Unquestionably, THE most difficult electronic device I have ever used. The "Good" quality rating was given only because, I think, the lock is heavy and well made. However, I DO NOT recommend this lock for any reason.

The quality of this padlock is excellent, unfortunately I had to take away a star due to the complicated set up directions. This is an ideal answer to the problem of needing something to be locked up and yet still have multiple people able to gain access. Keeping track of keys for multiple parties is too difficult, people lose keys all the time. A good example is my friend's horse lease has a cupboard for the supplies that all of the riders need access to on their stable days. No more copying of more and more keys with a fingerprint padlock.

I’ve been using this lock for a couple of weeks on my gym locker at work. Really convenient to not need a key to open the lock, although I still keep the key around. Programming is easy if you follow the instructions. It takes a little time to give it ten samples, but it’s a one-time process. I programmed the lock to sense the thumbs and index fingers of both of my hands so it doesn’t matter which hand I use to open it. The fingerprint reader is remarkably resilient. When I had to open it with some PVC cement on my thumb, it took three tries to unlock it, but it unlocked! I tried to unlock it with a wet thumb. Wouldn’t unlock. Once I dried off, it worked OK. The lock is solidly-built. No quality flaws that I can see. Price is on the high side, but I’d still buy it for the cool/convenience factor.

This is a handy little padlock for gym or school type use. It is a bit tricky to initially setup - I recommend you go to the company's website and follow the video they have. It appears quite sturdy and looks like a good medium use lock. Nice bonus of having up to 10 prints memorized. I just with you could have more than one 'master' print. I would give it fiver stars if it were waterproof or at least weather resistant especially at this price point.

I got this lock to be able to not carry around key when biking. It took me a couple of attempts to get the lock to program. I did not like the directions which were on blue paper and white lettering and were very had to read. After I finally got the lock programmed with my fingerprint it worked great. It is easy to use and the lock seems very strong Have not had the battery go bad yet, but it does have a key if needed.

Handy and heavy. Love the style of the lock. The look of the lock. Seems like it will hold up for years and years to come. Just not sure about the charging of it. Reading online that there is a 6 month charge and a 12 month charge. We will have to find out. I got this lock mostly for the wife's locker at work so. I hope it holds up and she does not complain to me in 6 months.

When I originally ordered this lock I wasn't aware that it was recommended for "indoor use only". Having two gate locks that use one key has worked,except when I forget the key for the gate that is all the way around the other side of the house. So taking a chance I installed it on the far gate but fashioned a shroud to cover it. My only concern is will the high Florida humidity effect it's performance down the road. But I still have two keys. It appears you have a choice between a 43 mm-52 mm or a TSA model. The first thing you need to do is charge it with the included ( approx 4" long ) USB cable. This took about 5 hours. Second is programming, this took several attempts. I have not tried to add a second user yet. I would suggest not losing the instructions or making a copy, or you can always go to the Benjilock.com site. Since I have installed this it has rained twice, no problems, and at least twice a day for about a week or more have tested it, works every time. Being this will store up to 10 fingerprints it could be good for a business with multiple employees. I am spoiled already.

Five Stars if it was suitable for outdoor use. This padlock is useful for indoor lockers, trunks, etc. The programming instructions are somewhat laborious and confusing (to me). There are nine steps to programming your fingerprint onto the lock. Step 8 says to repeat the previous step, but I kept trying to repeat all of the steps for successful programming. Finally, I reread the instructions yet again to find that I only needed to repeat step number 7. After I did that, the programming was successful. The lock responds to my touch every time.

Nerd heaven! This an excellent product. The lock itself is heavy, and reliable, The scan pad appears impervious to attack, which was one of my concerns. Tech always has a weak point, and I don't think this has one. I had a combo lock on my back gate that was easily reset. Not that I need to lock out my cousins, but if I HAD to, I would have to change the combination and notify everyone who had it. With this lock, you can scan in up to 10 people, and delete them as necessary, leaving the rest alone. My only concern, and I haven't found any documentation, is how long the charge lasts. I expect that there is an interval where I need to bring the lock in for charging, but there is nothing available to shed light on that subject. It does come with a key that is used for programming and backup, but Murphy's Law dictates that you will be locked out when the key is far, far away. That said, I'm still a giddy nerdette. P.S. The charge cable is REALLY short! Like, 4 inches. Whose idea was THAT???

I love gadgets and this is a great one. Right out of the box I could feel the heft of the lock. It's solid. The programming instructions are very clear and it only took a few minutes to program my fingerprint. I tested it over and over to make sure that no one other than myself could open the lock (thanks to my wife and friends). The instructions read that a full charge will last six months. The thing I like the best is that I don't have to carry a key anymore.

While this is an excellent idea, actually programing the lock proved to be a challenge. After numerous tries while reading the minuscule directions and much frustration I turned to Youtube and finally got it. I had visions of the Rubicks cube of padlocks becoming a paper weight. Alas, first try with Youtube directions I got it and now it works like a charm. The only thing not to like is that it is not supposed to be used outdoors. I had hoped to lock up my livestock pens with these but now I will use them inside the barn instead. The great thing is that this holds a charge for a year or so and it does come with two keys for the folks who forget to recharge it when necessary.

This is a pretty cool little lock. It's easy enough to set the fingerprint(s) to open it and so far I haven't had it fail to recognize one. It is easier to keep up with your own fingerprint than a small key or a combination, but I think the price point on this lock might be a little too high to justify this convenience. That, coupled with the fact that it definitely wouldn't last very long if you used it outdoors, is why I gave it four stars instead of five. But if you've got the money to spend and this thing fits your needs, there's no reason not to buy it.

I had a hard time getting the fingerprint feature to work but once I did, it's impressive that your print unlocks it instantly. It can hold up to five different people's prints but they'll need to be patient getting their prints added. It's very heavy duty feeling and looks like it would be great for a locker room or any indoor application. I was disappointed because all my locks are outside and need to be weather proof. This lock is not recommended for out of door use. It does come with two keys.

I received my Benjilock today, it's black, and Hampton makes it. This lock will come in handy at the gym, or for a school locker, the only drawback is these locks are for indoor use only. So far I’ve only added one fingerprint to the lock, but it works every time. I like the L.E.D. indicator light when programming the lock. This lock also comes with a set of keys for backup. Overall this is easy to program, nice looking functional and convenient to use lock.

My new Benjilock by Hampton came today; it's a nice-looking heavy-duty lock. These locks are not for outdoor use, which is too bad, because these fingerprint locks would be great for my side gates. I had no problem adding mine and my wife's fingerprints. It was easy to program. I like the fact they are rechargeable and come with a backup key. These are easy to use and very convenient and will work great at the gym or school.

Not at all secure. Can be easily opened by anyone. Don't waste your money
