Excellent product. Works well in its application. Bogs down a bit at times, but continues cutting well.

My first power planer and it takes a few practice passes on scrap to get the hang of it. Performs as advertised giving a good smooth flat glue surface on large two and a half inch thick slabs to be edge joined. Sturdy and well made like my other Bosch tools.

This is a great planer. It is certainly a bargain. I used this planer on osage orange wood also called hedge which is very dense and hard the blades show no wear at all. When comparing the planers performance on osage orange wood, ash wood, and pine wood there was no difference. I love the max depth of 0.1 inch. My only two complaints are one the dust collection when only using a fraction of the 3 1/4 inch blades and two the stand got in the way of the fence. I know many people complain about the locking mechanism but I actually like it. I figured out that if you use your palm to push the lock off button, your thumb to press the lock on button, and your pointer finger to pull the trigger it is very easily locked on with one hand.

Quiet, smooth, and ultimately adjustable on the fly ---what a great tool... The huge bag you might think is a joke at first - it's not. With very few cuttings flying as you plane down your surface, this bag is full and tight before you know it. Less mess, more work...Sweet!

This tool is very cumbersome. To pull the trigger and lock it in the on position you have to use your second hand.

The fence is not wide enough. It is hard to maintain the correct angle when using it. Other than that it is a great investment.

5 stars because this was a Christmas present and they loved it! Bosch is apparently the best for planers and such and this planer does its job for sure! Only downside apparently is that the sawdust bag had ripped slightly during heavy use because it wasn't emptied out in time and when it's used heavily, you are constantly having to empty the bag.

I am pleased, overall with this tool. It is quiet and powerful. The only issue I see so far is if you have the depth setting at 3/32 or deeper when used with Mahogany, the tool gets clogged inside with debris. It did this repeatedly. It would probably be ok if you hook a vacuum to the tool for the larger depth cuts, although I have not tested this theory.

These were excellent replacement blades for some factory blades that dulled on each side after 2 hrs of planning some maple. These have already outperformed those on just one side. Easy to install and sharp.

The power plane gives a smooth cut and is fine for scribing fillers or any work on narrow pieces, but on wider cuts the chip ejection is poor. Even on light cuts (.5mm) it constantly has to be unclogged. Dust collection helps significantly, but even then the plane clogs frequently. I have a European made Bosch power plane I bought 25 years ago that ejects chips efficiently, has a decent fence and allows the user to work in door or window rebates. I knew this plane didn't have the same features, but the poor chip ejection makes it a disappointing purchase.

This is a great planer overall but I noticed when making wide passes in plywood using the full width of the blade the dust exhaust ports would get clogged up after a few seconds. I then have to unplug the planer and remove the wood chips manually with needle nose pliers. I think Bosch should redesign the exhaust ports. They are too narrow and cause the wood chips to clog up.

Nice tool but the adjustable guide and mounting brackets are not very accurate (90 degree bend angle is off). I will need to adjust myself to get it set correct.
