We purchased this fan to update the look in our family room. (Our old fan was large, clunky-looking, and antique brass.). This new Brookhurst fan is attractive, more streamlined, and circulates the air quietly. The price was certainly right. In fact, we were so happy with it that we purchased a second one for our bedroom.

This fan was very easy to assemble. If it weren't for the bronze coloring, I think it would look cheap. I bought if for my office, so it works just fine in there. I'd buy for a guest room or somewhere other than the main area. The light is nice and bright and the fan does exactly what it's supposed to do! As you can see from the picture, one of my globes was broken when we opened the box, I am awaiting a replacement from Hampton Bay.

The ceiling fan was super simple to install, it came with energy efficient bulbs, very easy to read instructions and for under 50 bucks a real bargain.

Got a whole lot more then I expected for the price. I purchased two of these fans for my very large living room. They work so well and put out so much cool air I had to turn my air conditioner unit up. Oh and the other very important point they are very, very quiet (love that about them). I didn't give it a five (5) only because of the blades, they could use some sprucing up maybe some shellac or something to give them a shine.

I purchased this ceiling fan for our kitchen dining room area. The fan blade color matches with our ceiling and nice modern looking. We had to figure out instruction a little bit, once I understood the instruction, it took about 1-2 hrs to complete installation. The fan is very quiet and appealing and the light is bright enough to lit our dinning room. Great price and quality for this product. I definitely recommend to my friends and family members.

We looked for a ceiling fan with bronze fixtures that didn't break the bank. We found this one and couldn't be more pleased! My husband, who had never installed a ceiling fan, did it with relative ease. It has a simple, sophisticated look to it. It cools the room well and provides plenty of light. We will be purchasing again for other bedrooms.

I love this ceiling fan so much that I purchased 4 already for my house. I have the brushed nickel in 3 rooms and the bronze in the living room. They all look fancy! They make the rooms look updated! This ceing fan is quiet, has 3 speeds, can be flush mounted to the ceiling if the ceiling is low, or a rod comes with it if the ceiling is higher. I had them put up both ways. My living room and master bedrooms have higher ceilings so my friend used the rod, but the other two bedrooms are lower so they were flush mounted. I love this ceiling fan, the way it looks, it's very quiet, very reasonably priced! I'm a research freak before I buy something and this truly is the best purchase out there, in it's category. If you want a remote control, then you need to either buy one separately or just buy another fan that comes with it. I personally didn't see the need for one, since mine stays on for hours, it's not like I keep turning it on and off.... I have my lamp next to my bed, then only have the fan on all night and it does a great job. I think I'm saving in electricity since I don't need to turn the AC on on such a low temperature. This ceiling fan is awesome! It does a great job by circulating the air and creating that great summer breathe!

Adds simplicity and functionality to my new sun room. The size moves the air well. Easy to install and provided options for a different look (to match the flooring if desired.)

Can't beat the price and the product just works! Quiet, moves a lot of air, easy to operate. Very pleased, bought 2 in different colors for 2 different rooms. If you swap the CFLs included for dimmable bulbs (and you have the necessary 3 wires), you can use this fan with a dimmer switch – we've done that in the master bedroom.

After doing a lot of research on ceilings fans I found that this one was the best quality that was reasonably priced. I installed the fan and it works and looks great. I recommend this product.

I bought this fan after reading the reviews on here and scrolling through the cheapest fans for my home to help keep my old home cool until I get a in wall AC installed but until then this fan seems to be doing great at keeping the air cool and moving around the house. I love the idea of having the extension or I can remove it for a closer installation to my ceiling but I chose to keep the extension on the fan to help move the air better. I will sure recommend this fan to my family and friends and I want to buy a couple more of these for the other rooms soon.

Earlier this week I had installed a Hunter Oakhurst ceiling fan and it was the 6th Hunter I've purchased. It was a major disappointment. The motor was so slow I could barely feel air move even when it was on the high setting. I should have read reviews about it before I bought it because my complaint was a common one among consumers who purchased this model. After reading good reviews about the Hampton Bay Brookhurst, I took the other fan down, packaged it and returned it to Home Depot. The return went smoothly and I purchased the Hampton Bay Brookhurst. I had read many reviews that mentioned when you mount it flush there are parts you need to remove and parts you don't use. I didn't have any trouble figuring out which ones but to help future installers of this fan, I am uploading a picture of all of the parts I had left over. You don't use the small extension rod, and you remove the cotter pin and 2 screws from the motor housing. Like others, I had some difficulty getting the light kit wires into the small cavities, but that was about the only problem I encountered. The rest of the assembly was fairly simple, but I've done many of these installations. I did trim some of the motor wires to make it easier to shove them into the electric box in the ceiling. After I completed the installation I turned it on and was happy to see that it did have a healthy flow of air on high, much more than the Hunter that I returned. By the way, when you buy a fan the two measurements you want to look at to determine how powerful the air flow will be are RPM and CFM. To give you an example: The Hunter Oakhurst had 141 RPM compared to the Hampton Bay RPM of 160, and more dramatically, the Hunter had 2049 CFM air flow, compared to the Hampton Bay's 4,469 CFM. These specs are listed in all of the Home Depot on line listings for each of their fans. This fan was just $59.00 compared to the $89.00 Hunter and as far as I'm concerned it's a better fan. Not quite as fancy, but for an economically priced fan, you can't do any better.

I installed this product in my bedroom about 3 weeks ago. The fan/light was exactly what I expected after reading the product info and reviews online. I was able to assemble and install it easily. It works very well for its size (smaller than my other ceiling fans) and price. The only problem I've found is that it can be a bit noisy on the high fan setting. Overall, I think this was a great purchase and definitely fit within my budget. Shipping was on time and nothing was damaged.

Didn't install myself but it went in quick. Produces a good summer breeze & year round good light. Great value for the money! I like it so much, I bought a 2nd one & installed it in my rental unit master bedroom as well.

This fan was to replace a smaller broken one. This is bigger than the one I had (5 blades instead of 4 and 3 bulbs instead of 1). It fits perfectly and I'm happy that it is bigger. The brightness of the lights are great! Even though it is winter and I won't be using the fan until Spring/Summer, I think it is going to be wonderful in cooling the room. It was really easy to put up. I didn't even have to read the directions. Very pleased!

Installation was easy however based on all of the great reviews I anticipated much more out of this fan. It really doesn't produce much air but for the price - it's a decent buy. I am looking for a different fan now though.

I have installed about 10 ceiling fans over the past couple years and this one was one of the easier ones. No wobble at all. Overall a great online buy I think.

Be careful. It does not have a hole in the side for a swag kit. Otherwise very quiet
