This review is for the Bruce Oak Hardwood Flooring in both the Gunstock and Marsh finishes in the 3 sizes of 2 1/4", 3 1/4", and 5" widths. All pieces can be connected in any floor pattern desired, as they have a standard tongue-and-groove fit. They come in random lengths, with the majority being 2-3 feet long, some longer, and a few as short as 16". The pictures show the variances that can occur in both finishes and grain. The first picture shows the cartons, with the Gunstock finish stacked on the left and the Marsh on the right, a total of 3 cartons of each width and finish. The second picture shows, in order, a pair of 3 1/4" Marsh boards, then a 2 1/4" Marsh board, then a 2 1/4" Gunstock board, and finally the 5" Gunstock board (two of these are end butted together). What is interesting is that in general, the Marsh finish is lighter and more "orangey" than the Gunstock finish, which is slightly darker, with more of a brown hue. But in the second picture, only the 2 1/4" Marsh board displays the predominant color of the Marsh finish; the 3 1/4" Marsh boards look more like the Gunstock finish. This shows how grain and differences in tree variety can cause the finish to appear orange, deep red, or brown. Interspersing Gunstock and Marsh boards of differing widths on the same floor provides an interesting, rustic appearance, perfect for a casual look. It is recommended that you open a carton and see how the color of the boards will work for you, and there is significant variance between individual boards. Beautiful product.

I ordered this BRUCE PLANO LOW GLOSS COUNTRY NATURAL OAK 3/4 IN. T X 2-1/4 IN. W X VARYING LENGTH SOLID HARDWOOD FLOORING (23.5 SQ. FT./CASE) to redo a bedroom that had carpet originally. The color is very nice, but understand that not all pieces are going to be blond in color as it's a natural product. There were pieces that were included with darker brown streaks that I just used in the closet. There seemed to be quite a few short lengths, more than what I expected, again I used them in the closet or used them where I knew they would be covered up by a bookcase. I would suggest you order 20% - 25% more than you need so that you will have enough of the best pieces for the middle "show area" of the floor. I think this pre-refinished flooring is great and it's actually less than the unfinished flooring at my local HD. If you've ever used oil based urethane for floors you know it can take a month before the smell of the finish goes away and it won't be as tuff as a factory finish, nor as consistent. If you found this review helpful please click on the thumbs up button, thanks! MikeTheReviewer

I've had good experiences using Bruce 3/4" wood natural oak flooring and decided to install the Marsh Oak color in my office. The installation went well, with just a few boards with splitting issues. To help preclude splitting and expansion issues when installing real wood flooring, its important to let the wood sit in the room for a few days to acclimate to the humidity and temperatures of the installation area before nailing or installing. The color and finish of this flooring give it a highly refined and rich look .Overall, I'm happy with Bruce 3/4" Marsh oak flooring in my office and look forward to many years of use..

I've had very good experiences with Bruce 3/4" wood natural oak flooring and decided to install Gunstock oak color version in a bedroom. While the installation went well, it took a little longer than expected due to some variation in quality on some of the boards. My previous installations using Bruce 3/4" natural Oak flooring there was very few quality issues (splits) in the boards. With a little patience, I was able to match and cut out a few problem sections and all was good. The Gunstock color, texture and deeper grain compliments the Western theme of my home. Overall, I'm very happy with Bruce 3/4" hardwood floors.

We really like the fit and finish of the Bruce Plano Gunstock Oak Solid Hardwood Flooring. This flooring makes it possible to accomplish a nice DIY project if you follow the old saying of measure twice and cut once. We found the finish to be resilient during the install and we expect to be able to maintain its good looks and finish overtime. We plan to buy more of this product.

This BRUCE PLANO “LOW GLOSS” MARSH OAK 3/4 IN. THICK X 2-1/4 IN. WIDE VARYING LENGTH SOLID HARDWOOD FLOORING is a great option to be able to have a finished floor quickly. We installed this in gloss 10 years ago and it has help up ok for the amount of use in our kitchen. I can say that this selection and quality appears much better than what we got 10 years ago. The hardwood seems more stable and harder as well. For a span of 10 years difference, the new matches the old spot on and I must say that I like the low gloss finish much better. For a genuine solid oak hardwood floor that goes down and is finished in the end, you cannot go wrong on this one.

Best quality I've ever seen in hardwoods. The craftsmanship in this wood flooring is incredible. The wood planks are very thick quality wood with a beautiful taupe finish. This color is great at matching beige's and grey's, the most popular colors to paint interior walls. The planks lock together seamlessly and I didn't have any pieces that were a bad cut. All of the material was usable in the entire box. This wood flooring is incredibly durable and I expect it to last for years to come. I'm highly satisfied with the quality and appearance of this product.

This is a nice product. It has a substantial feel to it. This particular color allows the grain of the wood to show through. We are remodeling this bedroom and we will change wall color and curtains to complement the new flooring. Since this is wood, there is a natural uniqueness to each board that add character with quality. We plan to use this flooring for our remodeling project.

I love this hardwood!  It looks great and is a quality product.  I have wanted to have hardwood in my entryway and am glad that I decided on Bruce.  I have been extremely pleased with the quality and coloring of the hardwood. This is 3/4" thick and 3-1/4" wide solid hardwood and comes in varying lengths and my installer said it was very easy to work with and had very little waste due to coloring issues or defects.  I have a ton of natural light in my house so the low gloss works perfectly for me.
