Half was straight the other half had a bow in it

I wouldn’t consider it S4S. Fairly roughy with pits and dents. The four boards I ordered were not very close in color.

The wood was good quality. Edges were square cut as advertised. However, of the 4 boards I bought, 2 of them had considerable “chatter” along the 3/4” edge, producing a very irregular edge that required much planing before it was usable.

Perfectly milled without a scratch. Delivery took forever but the product was good.

The corners were smashed and 2 out of the 4 boards had big chips out of the edges

boards were straight and in good shape but had a few worm boring holes that had to be filled per board.

Excellent quality hardwood. Well packaged to protect the quality. Timely delivery to store.

About a third of the wood was too highly figured to plane.

Good quality board. I usually like to pick my boards out in the store just as any wood worker would do, so I felt like I was taking a risk ordering something online. The board was straight and worked great for my project.

Offered as "Clear Maple". Received 50% heartwood (dark grey) and at least one piece of poplar (based on the sticky label attached). Also multiple gouges evident, a 2" deflection over an 8' length and a 2" chunk missing from the end of one piece. Strongly suggest NOT ordering this product. Returned.

I ordered 2 of the 4 piece bundles of maple boards(8 boards total). Out of the eight, the boars were mostly good with only slight bows or crooks. One board, however, was severely crooked, but I was able to use it for smaller lengths. Overall a good value.

I have ordered this before, and am glad Home Depot still carries it, as I can't find it in the store. Some boards had a sight warp, but most were good. Overall, a good product.

This is my third purchase of 1" x 6" x 8' S4S Maple Board (2- Piece/Bundle). The first two were excellent, beautiful pieces of wood. This time it was trash. Both pieces were badly bowed. One, so bad I could only get small pieces out of the ends. The second was not as bad, but had a significant bow. I have a supplier for maple, but have to drive about 80 miles to get there. I started using this lumber for convenience. I will most likely give it another try. If the next order is not like the first two and more like the third. I will go back to back to my original supplier. Its a long drive, but I get to pick the lumber myself, and not have to deal with lumber pulled out of the cull pile.

Met my expectation. I am using as kitchen cabinet trim so it had a few areas of chatter from the finish milling. I may be able to hide it. About what I expected without being able to hand pick.

Good quality wood, only thing I didn't like were the ripples from the planer that had to be sanded out, other than that I'm satisfied

Maple was good and routed very evenly however, portions of one piece was Tiger Maple and there was not enough to feature on the piece of furniture but looked a bit strange was trim.

While I'm aware that wood has natural variations in appearance, this is sold as a bundle of two, and it seems that some effort would be made to ensure that the two boards are somewhat similar. Both boards had some damage, but it was not significant. What WAS significant, however, was the difference between the two boards (if I were in a store selecting boards for a project, I'd choose similar boards). One was nice and light, and very clean. No knots, very little damage. The other, though, was fairly grey, with two significant knots (one side, but holes in them). It also had more damage. Fortunately, I was able to work around the knots (my particular project allowed me to place them in hidden areas), but this seems like fairly lazy wood selection. I'll likely buy it again if I have a similar project, but I'll be a little nervous about what will show up. If you need uniformity, go into a store and select it yourself. I couldn't, because although every store in my state is listed as carrying this product, none actually had it.

It's not 1 in. x 4 in. x 8 ft. It's only 3/4 in. x 3 1/2 in. x 8 ft.

Boards were what I expected. Slight more figured than desired but acceptable. One small flaw on one edge had to be worked around.

They were not straight and not a full board as they were end cuts and not a full board one also had a knot in the middle of the board that had fell out.

The board quality was good. There was a little bend in them but nothing out of the ordinary for a 6ft board. I'd buy it again.

The wood arrived in great condition. The only problem I had with it, is it wouldn't hold stain, so the finished product wasn't the exact color I wanted.

The boards were all straight and had few if any blemishes. My only gripe is the figuring on one of them but i worked around that. (Oh, and that my local HD doesn't stock them :P ) Would order again.

one of the boards had a 2 1/2" knot about 3' from one end making that area useless. Luckily the project i was making required the board to be cut into 14" lengths so i could cut around the knot. This is expensive lumber so I wasn't expecting unusable material. The other board was fine.

Half the pieces has serious mars on them. Go to the store to see the pieces you want. Disappointed they were willing to ship flawed product.

Arrived in perfect condition. Lovely wood used for furniture making.

You never know what you will get when you order an organic product on-line, as opposed to choosing it yourself in the store. All four boards I received were straight, no defects, no blemishes.
