I had a growing gopher problem in my backyard, thought I had one, maybe two gophers. Tried lots of different things, which combined caught one gopher over a month. I ordered the three pack of the small gopher traps and installed them one evening. After about ten minutes, the first trap snapped. Before I had that trap cleared, another one sprung, then the third. Three gophers in less than 20 minutes. I was taking the gophers out of the holes within moments of the traps being sprung, and they were all dead. No lingering death or having to finish the gophers off myself. You do have to find the right gopher hole, but these traps are incredible. No digging or probing for tunnels. They have a lot of sharp edges, and take a few minutes to understand how to set them, so wear heavy leather gloves until you're comfortable setting them. Well worth the money, don't waste time or money with other traps.

Caught 4 gophers in one week. Tried everything else; nothing works. Cinch traps are the only way to kill the critters that actually works.

The idea behind it is simple yet effective. I used a gopher hawk before and even though this trap requires a bit more time and effort to set up I think it is more effective and durable in the long run. Got one gopher eliminated in my backyard today and now hunting for more. The only issue is that the metal rods will rust so keep your sprinklers off when you have a trap set up

I've been trying to get this gopher for weeks - my exterminator could not do it. Received these cinch traps yesterday, place them in the holes last night - one dead gopher in the am. Stress over these huge mounds created by such small rodents is all gone. Super easy to set. I was worried it would go off as I was putting it in the hole, but really needs the pressure plate to be hit in order to snap. Like the fact you can release and drop the gopher in a bag without having to touch/pick up.

Larger Cinch traps were too big of an opening for the small but so destructive gophers we have in the high desert of southern California

This is the trap to buy. I've bought other brands of this type of trap and found them defective and therefore ineffective. This one works and has been my go-to for several years. Buy Cinch and you'll get your gophers.

Once you get the hang of it, it's a Cinch.

The smaller Cinch trap is the correct size for the northwest pocket gopher. The distance between the cinch prongs needs to be 2 1/2 in. The consumer will still need to cut off 1/4 inch off the length of the prongs to properly size it to the gopher hole. This should be done at the factory.

I did not use it and returned to the store, because the width of the traps is wider than 2 +1/2" wide as described in the product details on website, too wide to be inserted into the gopher tunnel.

It looks like a quality product, but the three I received did not include the latching wires attached. There were two pre crimped and loose wires in the box, not 3. I had to uncrimp them, then slide them in, then recrimp. One of the traps missing the wire wont work until I buy my own wire. I only received 2 working traps. Even if they are good traps, if they don't have all the parts they wont work...

Took a few days, but putting all three traps in the same area caught a fatty that was destroying our yard and creating dangerous holes and tunnels. Hated to do this but tried all the alternatives to no avail.

I've used the traditional style traps in the past, and they work well but they are so much more work that these. With these traps I simply find any new mounds and clear the hole. (Usually with water) I then set the trap in the hole and more time than not I catch a gopher. They work really well.

The mechanism is good but I ended up having to modify the width of the cinch end to accommodate the size of the gophers - went from 2.25 to 4 inches wide. The 2.25 width would prematurely close on contact.

It works wonders! If you are bothered by gophers, get these! Just set the traps according to the directions. I trapped four gophers in the past month. I have tried solar noise gopher repellent and castor oil-bases repellent, neither worked. I should have got these traps in the first place.

The only brand of trap I've been successfully able to capture Gophers with repeatedly... if you set them correctly and they are in an active tunnel.
