Customer Reviews for American Standard Cadet 3 Toilet Trip Lever in Satin Nickel

This product is advertised as "Made from premium quality brass for long-term use" and "Compatible with Cadet 3 toilets". First, it is 100% made-in-China plastic. If there is any brass in this lever at all it would have to be a component of the paint used to make the plastic appear to be satin nickel. Secondly, it is not the same part that came with my Cadet 3 toilet nor does it work in my Cadet 3 toilet. It is several inches too short. When you hook the flapper valve chain to the lever the flapper valve cannot close so the tank cannot fill. I returned this item. Then I contacted American Standard, explained the problem to them and they shipped me the same incorrect part.

The inside lever was not the same length as original specified for Cadet 3. Also, it was plastic vs. metal which may affect durability. Suspect this product is out-sourced with little quality control.

This is lever is plastic, the rod that goes into the tank is too. Maybe someone would like the light thin quality, I don’t. Nice they offer the finish color . Wish it had a sturdy metal and straight line design handle I should have read the description better before I ordered. Remodeling the bathroom and haven’t installed the toilet yet, now I’m worried about the toilet quality.

Its 100% plastic and will fail again. Also I called and gave the model number from the tank and ordered what they gave me. I'd say it is at least an inch short and there is no slack from chain to flapper. I feel its a wee bit tight. Tight enough to pull at an angle and over time cause the flapper to leak. We will see.

This lever doesn't flush as easily as the one that the toilet came with. The arm is much shorter and you have to hold the lever down with a lot of force for a very long time to get it to flush. It is, however, great to not have to lift the lid to flush the toilet anymore.

One month, so far ok, flushes everything good, very quiet, plastic seat comes with it, but i prefer a wood seat

I am very happy with the (2) Cadet 3 that I installed, it also will reduce my water usage.

I have Cadet 3 toilet 4021N. I ordered this lever (738903-2950A). This lever is a lot shorter than the original. I installed it and the geometry was wrong. It pulled the flapper outward instead of up. Also did not lift it high enough; had to hold the flusher down the whole time it flushed. Luckily, I got an old stock original lever (YOU NEED 7381145-0020A. THIS IS THE STOCK "LONG" LEVER)

Too much money for all plastic BUT, it operates better than the nickel replacement the plumber installed. Looks better too.

The handle itself is ok, the finish is great, but the fit is a disappointment from American Std as a replacement for their own toilet. This lever, as other reviews state, is way too short for the Cadet 3 tank. And it is nowhere close to the original chrome lever that comes with the toilet. Why can't they sell the same fit original chrome handle in satin??......or even better, make the different finish handles interchangeable on the lever! duh!!

The lever arm is about an inch shorter than the original one. This is enough of a difference that I could not adjust it to flush properly. I would have tried to swap out the parts but it is not obvious you can do this without breaking it.

Was semi-easy to install. Just had to make a minor adjustment in the length of the stopper chain.

I bought this lever specifically for the Cadet 3. It was not the right lever, as the arm that holds the chain was much to short. Don't buy it, it is not what you are looking for.

Easily changed up the look of my toilet with this lever.

The actual trip lever is shorter than the original in my Cadet 3 toilet, but with an addition of a small ring it was long enough to work. I needed to change to Satin Nickel to match the other fixtures in my bath so it filled the bill perfectly.
