Refrigerator coffee maker
The refrigerator is excellent. The Keurig coffee maker on the Cafe refrigerator makes great coffee, the problem is it splatters coffee everywhere, what a mess each day.

    Good fridge. Minor issues
    Overall, good fridge. Only dislikes are that the “measured fill” doesn’t automatically dispense the amount of desired water you input, rather it just shuts off once you reach that amount. Also, the freezer doesn’t always seal all the way and builds up frost around the contact points. Other than that, no complaints at all!

      Save your money
      There is very little difference between the bronze and the copper. We have over a thousand dollars in handles for basically nothing. The handles do not look like brushed copper. I am so disappointed.

          Do not buy
          I bought this and have had major ice build up in the freezer where the door will not close. GE has tried to fix this three times now. The last time it was 1 month out of warranty and they wanted me to pay a $300 service fee.

              Nice smart features
              We got this refrigerator as part of a new construction house. We like the fridge. You might want to remember that it is a counter depth fridge and as a result is much more compact than a regular fridge. We needed some time getting used to the smaller space and being more organized with placing things in the fridge. Space aside, we really liked the refrigerator. It has nice features like K-Cup, automatic timers for heating up water etc. No other complaints. It looks great too.

                Great looking appliance
                Since we have limited space on a galley kitchen I was excited about having a counter depth refrigerator. Empty nesters don’t need all the space anymore and our downstairs refrigerator helps with extra space when needed. Love our product

                  Amazing appliance
                  We have now had this refrigerator for several months. Initially I was concerned by the smaller size of the counter depth refrigerator, but that has not been an issue at all. There is plenty of room and an amazing layout. I've been pleasantly surprised by some of the features...the hot water function is used daily, and having the Keurig k cup option is extremely convenient. And, it looks beautiful! I am in love with this appliance. So glad we bought it!

                    Great fridge overall
                    We’ve been using this fridge for 2 months now and overall it’s a great fridge. The freezer drawer is a lot bigger than we used to, and it works nicely for compartmentalization. Just a few minor things: The hot water takes a while to heat up the first time, but we’ve scheduled it to heat up first thing in the morning, so it doesn’t take too long after that first heat. The only thing is that it splatters and drips a bit so it needs regular cleaning. We still have not been able to clean all the blue sticky protection plastic that is in the crevice of the handles and devices, I’ve tried with needle tweezers for an hour and still have not been able to do so. We just have to live with it now. The ice maker has gotten stuck frequently, we had to open the dispenser and shake them loose a couple of times in the last month. We think it’s a little slow in replenishing the ice cubes, but this is our first ice dispenser so we don’t really have anything to compare it to. What surprised us is that the front of the fridge is NOT magnetic. So we couldn’t have our fridge magnets but the upside is that we keep the appearance empty and neat.

                        Over all it is great. The Kurig feature I would not recommend. It needs work. The water takes a very long time to heat and it splatters all over when making coffee. However, the water is hotter than in a regular Kurig so that is a plus.

                            I love the look and the space! However, we have had it for 2 weeks and i cannot get it to make ice. It did make ice after the first 24 hours. maybe 3 times. since then nothing. i tried going to settings turned icemaker off and the break turned it back on. i looked at the temps and they were all at factory settings. we do get water dispensed in the door. if i could resolve that i would give it 5 for sure

                            We appreciate you sharing your review with us. Our deepest apologies to hear that your refrigerator is not making ice. It's understandable how upsetting that is to deal with. Please take a look at some helpful troubleshooting tips below to help resolve this.


                            Make Sure Icemaker Is Turned On:
                            Some models have the icemaker control on the refrigerator control panel, while others have an On/Off switch on the icemaker. Check your Owner's Manual for instructions.


                            On models with the LCD touch screen, touch Settings (top right corner of the screen), touch the right arrow until you see the words Ice Maker. This will show the words On or Off. To change the status of the icemaker, touch Ice Maker until the desired setting is displayed.

                            Check Temperature Settings:
                            For optimal ice production, temperature settings should be 0°F for Freezer and 37°F for Fresh Food. Try adjusting temperature settings to colder settings by one degree every 24 hours.
                            Keep door closed.


                            Check Water Filter:

                            Pockets of air in the system may affect ice production. After water filter is installed properly, run two gallons of water through water dispenser to remove air from the system. If no filter is installed, a filter bypass plug must be installed.


                            Check Icemaker Paddle Arm:

                            Clumped ice or ice clusters in the ice bin can prevent the icemaker's paddle arm under the icemaker from working properly. See Owner's Manual for instructions on cleaning the ice bin.

                            Check Water Supply Connection:

                            Make sure a cold water supply is connected at the rear of the refrigerator by copper or SmartConnect tubing.

                              This fridge is LOUD. Other reviews said this fridge was loud. I thought, eh, no big deal - I can handle it. But holy smokes! I don't normally write reviews, but as I sit here in my living room, a solid 15 feet from the fridge, I cannot NOT hear it. You have been warned!

                              Electronics not reliable
                              18 months old and the electronic controls needed to be replaced. Very expensive repair. Over $350 to fix We installed all GE cafe appliances in our new home build and have regretted this choice. At this rate we will likely just replace them all sooner rather than later rather than spend more money on them.

                                Annoying and overpriced
                                There is nothing special about this fridge to be part of a luxury line. The one we received immediately started to frost over at the ice maker. We bought this to replace a Samsung that had a faulty ice maker. Very disappointed in the product and Home Depot service. We reported the defect immediately and after a week arguing with customer service, I'm still trying to get a refund and pickup. Not satisfied with this product and especially frustrated that Home Depot is making it so painful.

To resolve this issue, remove any visible frost build-up with a dry towel. Check to ensure the doors close properly, and check the door gasket. Ensure the doors are aligned.                                   Completely frustrating experience with this product from quality to going through the GE/cafe required channels to get it fixed. Going on a month without a refrigerator waiting for GE/Cafe to make this right. Shameful and criminal

                                    Failed compressor 2 weeks after receiving fridge!
                                    Two weeks after receiving the fridge it stopped working due to a failed compressor. Home Depot passed us off to GE and would not replace the fridge even though it was less than 3 weeks old. GE would not give us a new fridge either and instead ripped the fridge apart to replace the compressor. Now, not even 12 months later the fridge stopped working again and I’m stuck dealing with GE. Avoid this fridge and also avoid buying appliances at home depot as they won’t do the right thing.

                                      We appreciate you sharing your thoughts with us. It's understandable that sometimes less can be more. Your concerns about the ice maker have been noted. This unit will make approximately 4.5 lbs. or 130 cubes per day. This is also the amount of ice the bin holds. Ice production is dependent on freezer temperatures which are affected by the temperature control settings. The settings should be 5 and 5 on models with knobs, 0 and 37 for models with electronic controls and 26 cubic feet Bottom-Freezer refrigerator model settings are –2 and 38. Door openings and food load affect ice production.

                                      More food in the freezer will keep the temperatures more stable which will help the icemaker perform more efficiently. The frozen packages act as insulators to keep the cold air in. We recommend that the freezer be kept three-fourths full for optimal operation. If necessary, use plastic jugs filled two-thirds with water to increase the freezer load to three-fourths of its volume. We do hope this information helps. Let us know if you need anything. Also, on bottom-mount refrigerators with a freezer drawer, it's normal for the drawer to seem loose or to wiggle while being opened or closed.
