Works like a charm! Not kidding.
I ordered this pen to cover the MANY white scratches on my Lifeproof Choice Oak laminate flooring we installed only weeks ago (not happy with "Lifeproof's easy-to- scratch floors) but this pen is AMAZING! You can make it match perfectly, it really does go on light and gets slowly darker with each coat. It is easy to use. The only thing that bothers me is that neither ofthe tips is skinny enough to fit into some of the deeper dings I have in the kitchen where people have dropped dishes. Lifeproof should include one free of these repair pens with every purchase of their flooring. This pen releived so much anger and stress I was experiencing over my new floors.

We bought this product to repair small scratches on our taupe bamboo floors. We used the fine tip on the pen and went over each scratch in the floor. Then I smudged the lines a little with my finger. The scratches pretty much disappeared. Not sure how it will hold after I wash the floor, may have to reapply. See before and after pictures.

I actually like this pen. I have a real wood bar top that gets used a lot. I've used it to camouflage deep scratches. I cleaned the scratch with a cloth and then did as the instructions said and went over the scratch, one coat at a time. Of course, it wont work miracles. Painted wood scratches easily, so when cleaning wont get the job done, this pen is a good back up. I like that you can build the color from light to dark.

This product is easy to apply but does not fill scratches and dents. The pen is super easy to use. It has a pen tip and wider 8 mm chiseled tip for large applications. It comes in multiple colors that can be combined for a custom shade. The product is non-toxic, non-flammable and has no odor. Application is also permanent. My pen had no instructions and I was unable to find best time between applications. Online descriptions mention that the product is slow to dry and thus easy to wipe off mistakes. I tried several different times between applications to see if there is a difference and it does not seem to be. Cherry color seemed more brown but it worked well on Bombay Co. style dark cherry wood furniture. Overall, the product is very easy to use. It is a thin liquid that will stain scratches and will mask them. But it will not fill deeper or larger scratches. For those would be best to use a wood filler and than the pen. I do recommend it.

Using this scratch repair pen is a quick and easy way to touch up scratches and dings on your flooring and furniture. I personally got this scratch repair pen to use on my dark gray bathroom vanity. The pen is supposed to work to fix light, medium, and dark gray wood, depending on how may coats you apply. The first application came out very light gray. Allow some drying time between applications, otherwise you will just remove the first coat. As you can see by the before and after pics, I never was able to get it to completely cover the scratches with a dark enough color, but it may just be that whatever my vanity is made of made it harder to cover. But from far away, you cannot hardly notice the scratches now.

Basically a marker. It's as easy to use as a marker. I've done the mixing of patch paint before and that annoyingly takes a lot of time, time which I don't have with young children. But this marker I was able to use to cover up some scratches on a chair leg - it took about 20 seconds. This is a marker. This isn't your child's marker, it's a permanent marker. In fact, it looks and smells exactly like some of the high quality markers I used as an art student. So I suspect this will last for years in a drawer without drying up, just like the artist markers I have. The only downside is it is a marker - so you're putting color onto the bare wood exposed by the scratch, and the wood is soaking in the ink. It will match the finishing just fine, provided you select the right color. The color will match, however, if you have a shiny finish on your wood it will not match the finish. So I suggest using this for small, thin scratches. Anything wider than a millimeter or so, you may wish to repair using a more involved process that will fill and match the shine. My scratches were along an edge of a chair leg, so I used the thick side and just went up and down for a few strokes to fill in. For darker colors, apply multiple times.

I was impressed by the ScratchCure Cherry Wood, Laminate and Vinyl Scratch Repair Pen. Looking at it I noticed it was made in the USA and also not flammable. A huge bonus on both counts as a touch up pen in this price range it is one of the better ones.. The pen has a broad and fine tip. I had a lot more success using the fine point. I applied a couple of coats using the fine tip, I found this worked best. I was then able to vary the color to look more natural, with some spots looking lighter and some darker. It worked well to hide some scratches that went down to the bare wood.

This Scratch Cure pen by CAL*FLOR is adequate for small touch up jobs on furniture or fixtures. I didn't have much success with my cherrywood table leg but it is not as noticable from a distance. I would recommend lightly sanding the area to be treated before applying this. It has broad and fine tips on either end. It is non-toxic and non-flammable. Bonus: Made in U.S.A.

I really wanted this product to work wonders. But outside of doing a full refinish on wood, a scratch is still a scratch. The pen was easy to use as you basically just color in your scratch and wipe away any extra. The problem comes with you actually want a scratch to disappear. On vertical surfaces, it appears to work pretty well - 4 out of 5. But on horizontal surfaces, the ones more likely to get scratches, it's maybe a 3. It conceals the scratch at a glance, but doesn't hold up to even a mild search. It also works best on edge or corner scratches, not ones in the middle of a larger surface area. I think this is because your eye is more likely to see a scratch when you have two sides of good wood to compare it to. In a pinch, it works to conceal small scratches, and extend the life of the table or floor. But in the end, to get a like-new look you are going to need to refinish the item.

The CalFlor Scratch Repair Pen did a satisfactory job of covering up scratches and small scrapes on our light gray wood vanity. It’s basically a large marker. It has a Fine tip on one end and a Broad tip on the other for larger applications. It is supposed to have 3 shades. Light, Medium and Dark depending on how much you apply. I did not seem to see the Light gray upon initial application. The color seems to apply as either Medium or Dark gray right away. For the most part I am happy to have acquired this Repair Pen as our vanity does look better. You have to zero in on the areas that were repaired to really notice a color difference. At a casual glance the scratches are no longer visible which is after all the desired result. I hope it does not fade over time but I will store the Repair Pen in the vanity for any future applications.

Immediately after the repair I was disappointed—my laminate floor had deep grooves from a metal toy getting stuck under a leg of a chair. The floor is only a year old, and the scratch is right in the middle of the traffic pattern. It looked awful, so I was eager to try this scratch repair pen. I used it just like a regular marker, and ended up building the color too much because there were some white parts of the laminate floor that simply would not take the ink. I was bummed. Two days later, my wife and I just took two minutes to find the scratch. The pictures really don’t do the repair justice—nobody crawls around on my floor who cares about the condition of the floor. We stood there, looking right at where the scratch had been, and finally I found it. Wow, really, the scratch has disappeared! Does the pen work? I’m stuck with an emphatic YES! This pen really does work. I thought I’d be writing a bad review, but two days later, and we’re just not seeing the old scratch any longer. Daylight, at night with a ton of overhead lights, whenever. We keep checking the area and have not seen the scratch until I got down on my knees and started crawling. So, if you have friends who crawl on your floor, they’re either too young, or have made too many poor decisions, to care about scratches on your floor. For everyone else, this pen will disguise the blemish and they’ll never see the scratch that was there.

Easy fix! had a scratch in my laminate wood floor, caused by a felt pad on the bottom of a chair that failed:( this pen is GREAT! has two different size tips a fine & a wide. similar to that of a pen & marker. simple to use. if you are looking for a darker color. allow the first application to dry a few minutes then re apply. it is not going to fill a scratch rather it will blend the color. I use these pens frequently for small jobs around the house to cover up scratch marks or faded spots, etc. on my laminate floors, doors, door frames, paneling, window sills. They are economical and handy! I have several colors that match almost everything in my house and the great thing is you can control the depth of color with these pens. The color is "build-able". To match a lighter tone stroke the felt tip once or twice over the area and wait a few minutes until it dries. Wipe with a dry cloth and buff. If the color needs to be darker just keep repeating the process until the colors match. I have even used multiple layers of different color stain pens to match off color items. Follow the easy instructions on the package for great results. No muss, no fuss, easy! The pens are non-toxic & non-flammable. MADE IN THE USA!!

Having just moved several hundred miles, we had numerous dings on various pieces of furniture and picture frames. I needed to try to fix up a fairly large dent/chip on a picture frame and preferred not having to buy a dark gray or ebony stain and mineral spirits. This product performed well enough for this particular application. The only reason it does not get 5 stars is that at its current price, it costs more than double than what a half pint of ebony stain does and more than a quart of gray stain at THD. It is convenient, but one pays the price for that convenience.

I wanted this primarily for some deep scratches in my vinyl floor. This product is so easy to use - just clean the area, apply they product then buff and all done! Also, if you need to go darker, you just apply more and build your color. I like having the choice of a fine tip or broad. I am excited to have used this not only in my home but I can also use this on the job where we use a lot of vinyl plank flooring. Good product, easy to use and affordable!

    FYI-Prismacolor
In searching the internet, it is not clear which "gray" CalFlor is using from Prismacolor. Depending on the actual gray they are selling with their label, the cost may be the same/exceed the price listed with Home Depot. It is plausible that CalFlor may contract with the pen company to provide a specific gray that they can resell. It does seem from other HD reviews that 1) the product received is not the product pictured; 2) the product may be a Prismacolor Premier Dual-Ended Art Marker.

This doesn't really mark on laminate, which is what it was purchased for. It kind of covered a couple of small scratches.

The pen made the scratch look darker on the first try .Now I can see scratch look more noticeable. Maybe it the scratch ran across grain of flooring it might of covered it.
