Works just great, perfect for an emergency power outage. Simple install

The reason it didn't receive an excellent was the cable catches the back wiper blade on our car. So some type of guide cable would have helped. I made my own.

Install was a breeze, test it a few times to make sure your string is routed so it will unlock. Most is downward pull but being the lock and string when you pull is horizontal, needs a pipe guide inside or a pulley so as you pull horizontal it acts like downwards at the door release lever end.

It works but the picture is wrong and it is a onesided key not dual.

This works, but is a very poor design. Nothing holds the tumblers and springs inside other than the key, so if the key comes out while you're trying to pull the cable, the tumblers and springs will fall out of the lock. The key is also single-edged, not double like the picture.

I was surprised when I moved up here from Texas there were none of these locks on garage doors. This is a really good lock, it’e easy to install with patients and works like a charm. The instructions however, are written for 24 inch garage door panels and not the 21 inch garage door panels that Southdown Builders install on their homes, As a result, I installed my lock about 10 inches down the panels and not the 20 to 30 inches recommended by the instructions. Measure the panel first, then tape the provided template.

very easy to install. Cable was a little long for my door, does not affect functionally but there is a bunch of extra cable hanging on the inside of the door. There is no adjusting the cable legnth.

Excellent product that works as advertised. Only minor complaint would be the chain link to connect to the trolley. The retainer was a bit difficult to install, but it wasn't that big of a deal. Overall it seems to be well-built, looks like it will be durable, and works like a charm.

It worked just like I thought considering I lost the key for the old one

It works however in the process of operating it, if you are not super careful all of the tumblers will fall out when you unlock and pull the locking mechanism out. You can pick them up off the ground and carefully put them back but my feeling is the lock should be constructed in a way that the tumblers do not fall out.

The disconnecting wire was much too long. I needed to cut it down to work with my door.
